Yeah!! I get to pay my midwife!!

After several months of going in to see my midwife and still having no idea how we were going to come up with $3,000 to pay her...I decided to apply for state medical assistance. I felt a bit guilty, but then just had to realize it's there for a reason, and if the state agreed I was eligible for help then I should take it. After all, every single one of our credit cards is just about maxed out, and our business is barely able to support itself every month let alone pay us much of anything. Hopefully by the end of year 2 in business as we continue to grow, this will change!!

And I thought that the medical coupons would maybe just cover a portion of her fee, but then when we talked about it at the last visit our midwife said if I was accepted, it actually covers everything. Yeah!!

Alright!!
I am so happy that VT covers all the midwife costs. If I had to come up with that cash, I would be in trouble. DH is unemployed and we just can afford groceries.

I was living in NY before this pregnancy and I would have to pay out of pocket.

Thanks everyone! I was also very happy to learn that our state of WA pays for midwife costs. I'm feeling very grateful for everything right now!

So you've inspired me. I've been hesitant to retain the midwife ($500 to start) for fear that I wouldn't be able to pay her by October. But you know what? I'm GOING to make this happen, no matter how I have to. I give you kudos for starting midwife care and then trusting it would work itself out.

Thanks for being my inspiration!
