I think there are such a wide variety of names at a Waldorf school.
There are traditional Christian names as some children are named after saints and they will come up in main lesson topics/festivals (Michael, Bridget, Lucy). German names like Gretchen (means pearl) seem to be popular. Others are nature inspired.
Others are from different cultures. Others are juniors and named after family members. I think there is a good mix.
I think most people who come to know about Waldorf do so after they have their first child, so the child will have already been named.
My daughter has an Irish first name (Kelly), Sanskrit middle name (Lalita)
which combined phonetically create another meaning in sanskirt and and Irish last name.
Here's some interesting names from the 3 kindergartens this year:
So name your child what you like....my child's name fits well.
Kelly is a little choleric leader with a beautiful and playful side (Lalita).
