To Do Lists

Thread Starter
here everyone can put up their "to do list" and mark off things as they're done (just edit). Also nice to see what everyone has on their list, so you can add something you might not have thought of
I still have to do just about everything, but here's a short list to start with

b's list

-clean out nursery
-prime & paint nursery
-get nursery furniture
-find a rocker & buy it
-clean master bedroom, make space for co-sleeper
-clean downstairs, make space for pack n' play
-attend shower #1
-make list of invitees for shower #2
-buy dipes
-buy wipes
-buy wetbags
-buy pail
-interview peds (two appt's set up so far, one more to make)
-make decision regarding vit k
-clean out freezer
-make foods for freezing
-finish birthing classes
-buy hypnobirthing book (with cd)
-read and listen to hypnobirthing
-buy at least one outfit (let's be realistic the baby will need more than one)
-get sheets for co-sleeper and pack n' play
-get carseat

Ugh, I know I have more to add... hopefully I can visit this list daily and be reminded what I need to do so I can start checking things off.

What do you need to do?

Buy everything for Baby
Sell Chris' car
Call our insurance agent and have our insurance lowered
Start doing dishes as soon as I'm finished with them instead of waiting for them to pile up!!!
Sweep & mop the kitchen
Vacuum
Get some hangers instead of using half the bed as my closet
Get a garbage pail
(did these two last night! woot!)
Go on more walks!!!
Finish organizing our new house so I can get back into my regular routine

If I made a list I might actually feel compelled to DO something on it....not doing it!

* get new nursing bras and camis

I am not sure, but I heard you should wait until the baby is born to get a new passport and then you can get theirs at the same time. Maybe it is cheaper or a hybrid passsport or something. Anyway, maybe it is something to look into that could save time and/or money.

I keep thinking of starting this thread....I guess I should have put it on a list

-help sis figure out where we are having the shower
-do pregnancy photos (need to order clothes for them)
-work on the next chapter of hypnobabies done!
-take newborn classes (July)
-find a doula done!
-move the dresser so that there's room for the diaper pail next to it done!
-take "registry list" to the baby consignment store done!
-finish BRU registry **done (for now, at least)**
-figure out after baby meals - are we getting a freezer?
-finish sewing baby outfit

well the baby is going to have to get a passport anyway, like, right away haha. it won't save any money to get them together. but...i need to make sure i pretty much always have a valid passport and in order to get my legal new name on it ,i have to send it away. it's important that i always have one because something could happen to a family member and i would have to leave the country. so if i get it now, i will be sure to have it back asap (my no fly time is like 30weeks anyway so i couldn't leave if i wanted to at this point nearly)

this way there is less to do with the baby!
so much hassle....why a 2 month old needs a passport is beyond me, that's my baby, the terrorist.

That's my kind of list! LOL!

Right now, I am just working on getting back to my pre-pregnancy housekeeping routines. Beyond that I'd like to:

Declutter a bit
Clean out the nursery
Wash baby's clothes and covers for things like the bouncer seat
Set up co-sleeper and some other baby gear
Pack my hospital bag
Pack a bag for my daughter
Get a gift for my daughter from the baby
Maybe freeze some meals
Swim as often as possible

bhaaahaha! Me too!
I might add "buy bark collar for the dam dog 'cuz if he wakes me and DS up from one more nap I WILL be having my DH dig a big ol' hole in the backyard."

I need diapers, covers, a carseat or two, and nursing pads. I need to stock my freezer with frozen dinners. Other than that, I think we're pretty set.

I have a huge to-do list that is not baby-related of things I simply want to get done before he gets here, but realistically I have my hands full with all three kids home for the summer and I am getting kind of big now that I am pretty much at the THIRD TRIMESTER OMGGGGGG!!!!!!1111111 So, I am not going to post that list lest I stress myself out even more, lol!

2boyzmama, that is the best list EVAR!
My list:
1. get enough sleep
2. get used to standing at work all day
3. find a midwife (this is in progress)
4. find a family doc
5. finish unpacking
6. put together crib (makes a great laundry basket)
7. order some diaper covers
8. maintain sanity

You know, I started to write a list but I think I'm just going to steal yours! We do have some stuff to do but at the moment my biggest priority is to NOT panic about all the scary stuff I see at work all the time (I'm a nurse in L&D) and how it could possibly happen to me. As long as I have a healthy child who comes home at the end of this pregnancy, I'm good and the rest of it will work itself out.

I'll give it a try...maybe it will help me stay focused:

AUGUST
-Retrieve baby equipment, clean, and put in appropriate places
-Buy sneakers for kids
-Purchase new attachments for pump
-Purchase a few bottles/nipples

SEPTEMBER
-Get kids settled into school routines in the fall before baby comes
-Prepare meals for kids while I'm in the hospital
-Decide on a name for this baby

DONE
-Transition ds to sleep overnight in his own bed rather than ours
-Make decision about co-sleeper and then act (to buy or not to buy)
-Switch all the bedrooms and closets
-Get a few plain onsies for baby
-Locate and buy new nursing bras
-Visit hospital and take their little course so I can deliver in birth center
-Find a going home outfit for baby
-Install car seat
-Get changing pad and covers for top of my dresser
-Buy hypnobabies home study course
-Start hypnobabies home study course
-Purchase cloth diapers for little one

-Schedule carpet to be cleaned
-Buy toiletries for pp (nursing pads, reg. pads, etc.)
-Pack bag for hospital
-Find and sanitize my breast pump

I'm sure I'll be adding to the list, but hopefully I'll be crossing stuff off as well!! Good luck everybody!

My list:

Baby stuff
(1) buy co-sleeper and sheets
(2) wash diapers, clothes, blankets
(3) finish nursery room and organize
(4) get other baby stuff from friends; car seat, changing table, maya wrap
(5) buy ergo for DH
(6) finish our room
(7) buy bottles, baby soaps, detergent for dipes, first aid supplies for baby (nail clippers, nose aspirator, thermometer, etc)

Birth Stuff
(1) I guess I need it all; chux pads, wood to gnaw on, tree to hang from, several people around to blame...
(2) Buy gifts for Midwife and Doula
(3) Have baby

Post-Partum Stuff
(1) Again, I don't know what I need for this, but I am guessing:
(2) pads for lochia
(3) ice packs
(4) peri bottles
(5) sitz bath
(6) baby nurse and nanny for 18 years
(7) breast pads
(8) Nipple ointment

Gosh, I really need to get it together, I have no idea what I actually need here.

we have a barker, so we wanted to take care of this asap especially after we moved into a new house which was nice, with new neighbors. no one wants to be those neighbors! we got a bark collar (i was hesitant cause she is seriously my baby) it's the kind that sprays cirtronella when she barks. it totally works. she wore it for awhile and got used to it , she would stop barking when she got sprayed so there would just be one bark! then after awhile, she realized if she didn't bark, she wouldn't get sprayed so she stopped barking! once in awhile we have it on her if we think she is gonna get worked up but mostly, she is just so much better.
My neighbor has a CONSTANT barker and it drives me insane!! If he's outside, he's barking. SO has complained multiple times and the cops have even gone to his house b/c of the dog. The neighbor says that the dog just likes talking. Not at 6 AM on a Saturday buddy! is what I'd like to say. How bad would it be for me to give him one of those collars?

Anyway, I am not even going to attempt a list. I just registered last night and I want to hold on to my feeling of accomplishment a bit longer. I am glad this thread got started though b/c your lists have reminded me of things that I want to do but have already forgotten, i.e. freeze dinners!
