Nurse Jackie Anyone?

Who else is watching this? I tuned in to the premiere last night and think I could get into it. I'm not to crazy about the half hour format however. What do you ladies think so far?

I really enjoyed it. I totally forgot about Carmella!

I didn't dig it much. It was just "ok". The ending seemed ripped off from Mad Men.

I'll probably watch another episode or two just to make sure. Sometimes pilots suck for one reason or another.

I watched episode 1 from Netflix, and I loved it. Too bad I don't get showtime. I'll have to wait for DVD.

I think I need to check out Mad Men! I enjoyed her friend "MoMo" (Haaz Sleiman). I'm excited to have a new show to watch, but not like I don't have enough screentime during my day as it is

I liked it enough to want to check out a few more episodes. It had enough "freshness" to keep me wanting to watch. Some of the plot was a little over the top but no more so than Weeds or United States of Tara. I'm looking forward to seeing how they develop the Anna Deavere Smith character.

Yeah, I think it was over-the-top simply because it was the pilot. Implausible that so much drama could happen in such a short period of time, at least to me, but I still thought it was enjoyable

I was entertained - I will definitley keep watching. I really like Edie Falco.

I watched episode 2 last night (it's on Comcast On Demand) and didn't like it as much. The Eve Best character bugs me and I'm just not buying their relationship no matter how quirky odd couple they spin it. Several parts of the plot in this episode were too formulaic. I won't spoil with particulars but I rolled my eyes a couple times when my predictions came true so easily. I'll keep watching to see if it improves. It took me a while to get into Weeds and I wound up watching every episode.

I saw the pilot. I liked it ok. It will take me a couple episodes to figure out if I love it or not.

Anyone watch the fourth episode?

I'm still not sure about this series, but there's not much else on during the summer so I'm still watching. I like to watch with my mother, who is a registered nurse in the ICU, and we criticize what medical details the show gets wrong.

I don't know how many people are up to date with the show so I'll put this into spoilers just in case...

I didn't realize until the latest episode that the guy Jackie is having an affair with doesn't know she's married. Then my mom brought up the point that if they worked closely in the same hospital, there's no way he wouldn't accidentally hear from other co-workers or something else that she's married with kids. Unless she hides it from everyone? Both seem improbable.

Also, I wish the show were an hour instead of half an hour. I think it's too short of a time to develop much for show that's a drama.

I like the show. Edie Falco is just awesome as a compassionate yet flawed nurse.

wish it were longer though.

I am getting really into this

Oh, Please do share the medical errors.

As far as your spoiler, I watch it on demand so I'm a week ahead so I'll put this into spoilers too)

Well recently it came to light that no one knows anything about her personal life except for Dr. O'Hara but even she doesn't have an inkling about her drug use.So she's either a very private nurse who spends most of her time in the hospital or things will unravel for her

So anyone still watching? What do you think about the other characters? I am intrigued by Eddie but Dr. Coop really annoys me. He seems a bit immature. I too am wondering how they will find the time to develop these characters in a half hour show. I'm still not buying the friendship between Jackie and Dr O'hara either.
Another spoiler:

The mercy killing scene seemed borrowed from Dexter. Apparently, Jackie and Dr O'hara can read each other's minds too.

However, there's nothing else on Tv so I keep watching. I can't wait for Dexter to come on again!

we're really getting into this. i love zoe (the actress in general as well). i find myself alternately really pissed at jackie for her adultery and drug use and really pleased with her treatment of many of her patients.

i like that they're making the characters multifaceted, as in not 100% good, not 100% bad.

it's a keeper for us.

eta: just to clarify, the we/us i'm referring to is me and DH. i'm not insane. LOL!!

What are your thoughts on the Pharmacist (can't remember his name) finally seeing her with her family? I knew it would happen but I just felt so bad for him

The way Jackie wigged out at the tap dancing thing... ack! She does bother me when it comes to her kids like how she just could not admit Grace needed/needs help. She isn't very level headed and just lashes out.
