I am SO excited! I have a homebirth midwife!

I have been seeing the same OB who delivered my son since the beginning of my pregnancy because I didn't think we could afford a homebirth since my DH got laid off. But the further along I get I was feeling more and more uneasy with the prospect of another hospital birth after what happened with my son's birth (induction, vacuum delivery, my son being kidnapped to the NICU for 7 days because of a "blood infection" that was nothing more than a laboratory-contaminated culture)...so I was on my insurance company's website and decided to check for midwives under providers and there were some listed! I emailed one and asked if she still had any openings for late September/early October and she did...DH, DS, and I met with her today and she is PERFECT, PERFECT, and I am so excited to have my baby "in the home!" as DS says, LOL. I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders and I am so happy and relieved!

having swtiched to a midwife half way through, I can totally understand how happy you are! AND the fact that your insurance will pay for it, even better!
Congrats!:

Thanks!! I still will have to pay around $800 or so, but I was going to have to pay that much just to the OB in addition to paying the hospital, etc., so I will still save money by switching in addition to all the other benefits.
