We have both. For some reason boy names have always been super easy for us. Girl names take a little longer but both times we have had a name before we found out a gender. I tend to like boy names that can't be shortened and are names you don't hear often. I work with kids on and off a lot so I know which ones to avoid.

Don't worry, it'll come to you! I have a friend who was telling me the other day that their little boy was just "the baby" for about 2 months until they came up with a name that fit him!

We have a left over name from last pregnancy, but no idea if it'd be first middle or what. Its just one we "saved" incase we ever had another girl b/c we liked it. but we havent even TALKED about names this time around. I guess we should get around to it....although I have ten days after birth to get a name to the town hall......

We picked a name as soon as we knew it was a girl. It's one of my fave parts of pregnancy. Plus, the kids love being able to call her by name. I tell anyone who asks about it, and I get plenty of opinions, but that's just how people are about everything, so I am used to it.

Emmeline Aurelie (oh-RAY-lee)

Emmeline is of german origin (hubby is nearly 100% german), and Aurelie is my great grandma's first name. It's a mouthful, but it's been 'right' since the very beginning.

We just started talking about names (well we went to Barnes & Noble once and looked through some books to see if anything struck us). We haven't mentioned them or coming up with a name since then.

I guess that's something I might want to add to my "to do list"

We picked out the first name about a month ago, around two weeks after our 20 week u/s. We had been going through every name in the whole entire world and one just popped up that we both knew was right.

It was my suggestion, so I said I was done my work and left my spouse to come up with the middle name. I suggested something (my father's real first name, though not the name he goes by-- it's a German name and he goes by the English equivalent) and spouse sort of laughed it off. Then like two days ago, he announced that he thought that was unequivocally the best middle name to go with this first name and that it's a great name altogether.

So! We're done! Yay!

I hope that when we have a second kid, it isn't a boy, because I don't know that we will be able to come up with a good boy name ever again!

We have a girl's name - that part was pretty easy. But for boy, we have first name only... we've been struggling finding a middle name that fits. We finally called in reinforcements - asking his sister to help us with name suggestions.

We don't have an official list, but we've casually agreed that we like a handful of girl names. We are at a total loss for boy names though.

Same here, but I'm not worried, last time we found the name 4 weeks before the birth. We haven't been inspired yet.

the little guy will be Joseph Scott!

Joseph is a family name (my great grandfather I think) and Scott is the name of my DH's best friend who passed away about a week after we found out we were pregnant.

now, if we have a "suprise" and end up with a girl, we're totally gonna have a problem. We couldn't agree on ANY girl names! And since either 1st or middle will have to at least START with an "S" for Scott, it narrows it down considerably. There's not many S names I like for a girl.

How about Samantha? It's a good name!

Not that I'm biased or anything

But, if for some who-knows-why-reason you AREN'T liking Samantha (gasp!), you should look up the meaning of Scott and see if there are any girl names that you like that have a similar meaning, whether they start with S or not, it would still honor Scott

ETA: I just noticed that your son is Sam! So, never mind!!
