Allergies to coconut oil?>anyone have this?

I often have a runny nose for 6-14 hours after eating coconut oil-1-2 tablespoons, constant sneezing stuffiness and congestion. Anyone else experience this? If not right after eating it I get allergic symptoms a few days after reintroducing it into my diet. Thanks

Those are my son's symptoms, although for him, I think it's his general sensitivity to salicylates (coconut oil is very high), rather than to the coconut oil specifically.

My 2 yr old won't touch any food if it has coconut oil (or coconut flakes) in it. I recently made a salve and it was in a base of coconut oil, and her skin got all raised where I put it. I guess she is mildly allergic. I am not crazy about the stuff either, but now there is no cooking with it. What a shame since have sever gallons of it. Lesson learned, test for allergies before buying bulk.

Her skin also reacts to shea butter, but is soothed with cocoa butter. Now my salves smell like a candy bar. Guess that is not such a bad thing.
