When will you wash baby clothes/blankets? - Page 2

I have no idea. Probably around the same time when I actually can afford to BUY all the stuff I need for the baby.

I prefer t shirts to onesies becuase I think onesies are kind of a pain when you use cloth, but I still buy them too. I really don't have an issue with the t shirts riding up, and if it does a little, I just pull it down Not any worse than a onesie that won't snap over a cloth diaper, or gets soaking wet at the edges when the baby pees in the diaper.
all I see is big dollar signs lol.

Yah, its like with cloth, my little ones are usually wearing longies or shorts, etc, so I don't NEED a onsie all up in their crotch.

Basic Brilliance or American Apparel are the cheapest. Also I think Dharma Trading Company still sells Gerber t shirts for really cheap. SOMETIMES you can find the t shirts at Wal Mart or Target, but don't hold your breath. I've never found them there although I have friends who did.

And speaking of dollar signs, even if you knit them yourself, ever totaled up how much wool longies or shorts COST? I can't afford it anymore. Even newborn longies will cost you $45+ to have them knitted by someone else, and the wool will cost you probably around $10 if you do it yourself. That's assuming you already have the needles, which will cost at least $20 (but you can reuse them).

I have neither a SlaveMart or a Target in my town so I'm kinda screwed. I did drive 30 miles to the Target today, and that's where my complaint came from. The fact they fail at having cute tshirts.

I'll just stick to cutting off onsies.

I totally forgot about Dharam, they do carry the plain white ones. I bought them for Isaiah to dye!

Slave Mart! I just peed a little.

Oh yeah, Target SUCKS for infant clothes. All they have are onesies and really frilly, impractical outfits. They have great toddler/older baby stuff though.

I just dyed a bunch of onesies and tees and prefolds for the babies! So much fun! Most of the tees and onesies I used came from the thrift shop or Dharma

eh.. I wasn't going to wash anything until 36 weeks. Our last shower isn't until 35.5 weeks. I'm worried about getting duplicates or having clothes that don't fit/aren't used so I doubt I'll wash all of it at once.

We'll see how I feel once nesting kicks in. I might end up with a dresser full of clean, washed baby clothes even though that isn't my plan right now.

Oh my I thought I was the only one!

I have prefolds that are new and need many washings. Everything else is washed and in the drawers.

If you go to thebabywearer.com and check out the FSOT-OT subforum, you will find great deals on nice infant brands. That's where I've found my UTN tees and other tees.

We were given hand-me-downs and didn't choose what we got...and we got about 50 onesies. We have cut the bottoms off and will either leave them as is or sew a hem on them, depending on if our sewing machine gets fixed soon We just don't like onesies because we're doing elimination communication and that sounds like an extra thing in the way...
