What do you do about school and daycare?

Right now my 6 month old goes to daycare a couple of hours a day so that my dh who works nights can get a few hours of sleep. They only feed her the food that we provide -

However, during the summer my 6 year old is also going and I want to change her diet. Their handbook says no outside food can be brought in. So I want to tell them she can't have any gluten, dairy, soy or corn (mostly because I worry about the genetic modifcations). Can I somehow work with them to provide her own food? Or just have her eat what she can of what they provide and skip the rest . . . do I have to have a medical waiver?

Why don't you ask the daycare place? Tell her what the restrictions are and if they'll be able to accommodate you, or if you need to provide her food, and if that's allowed. They will tell you whether they need a "doctor's note".

'cause they already hate dealing with me and little dds food issues - I just wanted to get an idea of anyone's experience if possible before going to them about big dds food issues. Forewarned is forearmed and all that.

I think they're all different though. Would your doctor write you a note if it came to that?
