Multiples anyone?

Thread Starter
Anyone have a prediction for who might be having multiples this time around? One of the women that we went through our prenatal classes (for ds) with had twins her second pg so it's on my mind.

Does anyone want more than one? I have always sorta wanted twins but I think the reality is just too much darn work.

I would absolutely love to have twins, but it would exclude me from an out of hospital birth, apparently "due to my history." I really want a home birth again this time around, and I am going to be plenty happy with one bouching baby girl or boy.

I will confess to having a hankering for 2 ... nothing will ever make up for losing my third child but I honestly think this will be our last pregnancy and the gap between this one and our two eldest is now bigger than I would have chosen. I kind of like the idea that I have two close in age (and have a close relationship) and then twins would be ready made playmates for each other too.

I did have 2 lots of implantation spotting which made me wonder but I don't *feel* pregnant enough for a multiple pregnancy. Guess time will tell!!

No, no, big big NO to twins for me! My good friend down the street has twin girls about 6 months younger than my DS and even though they are sweet and adorable, I swear her and her DH are still recovering from PTSD from having them. Their first year was an absolute NIGHTMARE.

I'm good with just the one ball of chaos, thanks.

I would like twins since this is my last pregnancy, but we REALLY like our minivan, and we would have to sell it and buy something bigger.

A silly reason, I know, but it was something we discussed. :

Multiple births (including naturally conceived triplets) run in my family. I have this fear that I will have multiples. I really worry about my family's ability to take care of multiples to the point where my partner and I have talked about selectively reducing if we found out that we were carrying multiples. Not sure that I would - that might just be the fear talking. Still, I'm really hoping for a singleton.

I've been having twin dreams and vibes since I found out I was pregnant. I also already have one boy and one girl name picked out and I've never been so decisive on names (DH likes both.) So only time will tell If I am I will be ecstatic (although the likelihood I'll nurse as long as I want to try with a singleton might no be plausible with me having to go back to work when the baby/babies are born)

My mom was a twin and it skips generations. So we're due for a set in the family LOL

You know, when ds2 was just 8 months old, we ended up with (unexpectedly) a 4 week old foster daughter (who's still with us at one year). Honestly, those first months with her in the house were h**l. SOOOOOO much work!! The thought of having two terrifies me, though twins run strongly in our family. I'm afraid...my four year old actually just said yesterday, "Mommy, you're going to have two babies. A boy and a girl." Hopefully silly preschool talk. Of course, he told me a week ago I was pregnant. And I was. Unknown yet.

No, it can't happen. Right?? I already have three under three (ds1 is turning 4 next month). Not me. Unfortunately, I won't know for some time as my first prenate isn't until late Aug, and I won't have an u/s until Oct/Nov.

I always have high HCG levels (over 14,000 at less than 6 weeks), so it is a bit of a paranoia of mine - plus 5 under 4.5 would make me a little loopy. But I probably don't have anything to worry about since every sticky pregnancy I've had high HCG levels.

Twins would be soooo much work, but also such a blessing!! Twins don't run in either of our families at all, so we're not counting on it!! Can't wait to see who on here will have multiples!!

I had twins my first pregnancy...natural fraternal twin girls. They are 3 1/2 now. I feel so exhausted with this baby already...something I didn't have as bad with my twin pregnancy or my singleton before this one. I'm thinking maybe twins...but I guess we'll find out. That would fill up our minivan.

Oh man, I would LOVE twins. I've really had a hankering for them since we began ttc before the m/c. Also, dd told me that she wants me to have twins and she asked G-d and S/He said "yes".

I would love it, but it doesn't run in the family on either side. It's so remote and wild, but we thought the m/c baby was a girl and this one is a boy, so that might explain the boy/girl twins that dd said I'm going to have.

I really wish...though I know I'd need a serious overhaul and revamp in my support system if that were to happen. But I would love it, and yea, I hopefully pray and wish for it. What a miracle that would be. Of course, EVERY baby is a miracle!

God and I have a little agreement re twins...it's a big no on my part I don't think I could handle twins. Maybe as a first pregnancy, but not as a 3rd...a 5 y/o a 2 y/o and twins? No thank-you ma'am!!

My grandpa has a set of twin brothers...everyone always warned me that it skips a generation so it's my generation's 'turn' thankfully I have 87 1st and 3rd cousins to pick up the slack for me

We transferred 2 embryos, so twins is definitely a possibility for us. My beta was quite high, and I have been having marked symptoms far earlier this pregnancy, so I do wonder... although my gut tells me no.

Given the choice, I'd choose a singleton. Aside from the potential complications, I'm also not a particularly energetic person by nature, and I loved the sleepy days with my newborn last time, nursing and dozing. She'll be in school next year, so I have fantasies that I may still get some of those... please don't disabuse me of that LOL!

In the end though, I will gladly take what has been dealt to me, because this pregnancy is a true miracle regardless of how many are in there. We'll find out on the 25th - I'm scheduled for a heartbeat u/s.

I could have written nearly the exact same thing.

My DS turned 4 in February and told me a few days before my BFP that I "had a baby in there". I had actually tested a day after he said that and got a BFN, but two days later got my first faint BFP.

Yesterday he told me he was naming his sister "Eliza" but he wasn't sure yet what he was going to name his brother. When I asked him what he meant, he said that he "was going to have two new babies. A boy and a girl."

I don't have any suspicion that I might be pregnant with twins... but it's still cute.

My DD doesn't know I'm pregnant yet, but because I couldn't help myself yesterday I asked her if she would like a little brother or sister.

Turns out, she would prefer quads, and she's ordering up all girls. Greeaaat... LOL

My son has ordered "three boys, please."

My sis is pregnant with twins right now. I think if I turned out to be as well, our family might pass out. . .

My DS told me he wanted two babies, a brother and a sister. I reminded him that he already HAS a sister and he said "Yeah, I know. I want Aldria and another sister. A sister that doesn't walk. But I want a brother too."

Oh my...no

me! lol jk
But I would LOVE to have twins. I know this is our last go, this will be our third (we have 2 daughters), and my third section, so I don't think we'll be going 4 times. My second was a failed v-bac. So my only chance to get the 4 children I dreamed of... would be if I had twins. Slim chances of that happening though, I am 23 and none in our families, well distantly but that's it. My mom swore my second daughter was twins, she kept having dreams that she was in the hospital after I gave birth and holding 1 baby then my husband went back and got the second baby to hand her. Maybe it was a premonition of this time lol I wish. I'll be happy with one though
