What size pants are your newborn CD'd babies wearing?

I'm looking from the cloth diapers to the newborn/0-3 pants and thinking...no way. Did you skip that size altogether?

DS was smaller (7lbs 2 oz) and wore nb pants for a few wks and then 0-3 for another few wks. He's 2.5 mos now and wearing mostly 6-9 mos pants. We used kissaluvs fitted and bummis sww covers so not a ton of bulk. I do notice if I use fleece covers his pants don't fit as well. The only problem with the bigger pants is that they end up being soooo long that they go way over their feet. Certain pants fit better with cd's. I love zutano for the generous cut and even most carters fit well too.

babies wear pants? Most of the times my babes are in a shirt and diaper cover. I use mostly wool covers so they look like shorts/pants anyway.

my 8 lber wore mostly one piece items, she was a jan baby and i actually had to go out and buy a half dozen nb size carters terry sleepers cuz all the 0-3 were swimming. idk about pants, but onsies yes, skip 0-3 if you plan to use them.

from the looks of you sig you are due mid aug? probably get away with tees and cover or onsie type outfits for the first month and then you can decide.

My newborn is small. She was 5lbs 10oz at birth and was able to wear preemie pants over a preemie prefold or an xs fuzzi bunz. Now at 8 weeks she is about 9lbs and is wearing newborn size over the xs fuzzi bunz or the mini onesize Happy Heinys.

i gave up on all pants for now except our hanna wiggle pants. she's still wearing size 50 (the smallest size) in those. she's a big chubby bunny, too. the wiggle pants are awesome over cloth dipes. when the weather gets colder, ill revisit the pants thing.. but she'll probably end up wearing longies at that point anyway, or babylegs and a dipe.

I really think it depends on what type of cloth diaper you are using.

Typically, my son, now four months old, has fit in his size range with a few exceptions. This has had more to do with a tight waist that is tricky to pull over a fitted and fleece combo for example.

I had a smaller baby but even now at eight pounds she can wear newborn pants with a bumgenius aio or bumgenius fitted and prowrap cover. With a prefold and cover the 0-3 month fit better. I think it depends on the size and build of your baby and the type of diaper.

We did NB and 0-3 month pants. She's mostly in 3-6 months now but certain 0-3's still fit. She was 6 pounds 6 oz at birth and about 12 now at 4 months.

I have giant babies. Even with disposable diapers, t hey never fit in newborn clothes, and only fit in 0-3 months for a couple weeks, so yes we skip them.

I, too, do not do pants with my babies. They poop too often to make it worthwhile, even if they didn't have big, cloth bottoms. I need easy access for changes. Plus, LO gets too hot in the sling if he is wearing anything more than a onesie or a cool, summer outfit.

I should have skipped the 0-3 size entirely. I don't know what I was thinking, buying so many. This LO went immediately from newborn sizes to 6 months. With the cloth diaper on, he really needs a 9 month size for onesies and sleepers, and he's not even nine weeks old yet.
