i took a hot bath, hoping a tylenol helps alleviate something.

Crashing from June to say I feel for you.. I had hip pain from about 5 months on. It. Sucks.

I basically have to soak in a tub daily. It became a nice little routine for me.

I also sleep with a pillow between my knees. Make sure the pillow goes all the way to your feet - your ankles need to be separated too to get the proper hip alignment.

thanks.

i have a huge body pillow that does just that, so check
and soaking in the tub this morning definitely helped.

this kinda stinks.

Chiropractor helped for me. I had it for both my previous pregnancies. It was really bad around weeks 20 to 24 - like bad cramps all the time, except it was my pelvis instead. But the last three weeks I've been perfectly fine with little to no pain. The only thing I can attribute it to is "losing" my job that was very high stress. I worked from home about 10 hrs a week, and I was on a team and what the team did got outsourced so we were let go. I'm missing the income, but I'm so not missing the pain. And my chiro has told me before that my pain seems to flair up when I'm stressed. So try the stress angle too, if you can.

hope you find some relief doser.

Yes, this is helping me too. My chiro adjusted my pelvis and pubic bone. I felt much better right away. She even showed my DH how to feel which side of my pubic bone is higher and how to gently push it back. It's sort of funny when dh does it. He takes it very seriously

As silly as it sounds - hula hooping really helps my pelvis realign. If I stand up and am really having difficulty with it - a couple minutes of that sets everything back in place.

I don't have a hula hoop - just to be clear. But I do have a Wii Fit, which has a hula hoop exercise program. The movement is the same - just without the hoop.

warm bath with some epsom salts should help a little. My pelvis tends to sort of pop/crack back into place after laying down a while, it's uncomfortable but as soon as I give birth all works fine again! I find I just need to move more slowly. Ice helps my hip, but my hip problems are bursitis. Tylenol should help take the edge off. Sounds like you are doing everything that you can. One of the many joys of pg. Our poor bodies take such a beating

I was wondering where you were putting your hula hoop when I first read this I thought "I have no waist for a hula hoop" I could only keep it up by resting it above my belly I have wii fit but I am afraid it will make my spd worse, might have to try it though, DH will be sure to get out the camcorder to catch the 6 month pg woman attempting hoola hooping on the Wii

The only thing that helped my hip pain was our new mattress. Seriously, 3 days after we got it, the pain was completely gone.

I hope you can find some relief soon- it's such a miserable pain

Chiro didn't help my hips at all, but some people swear by it.

dp definitely enjoyed watching me do the wii fit hula hoop before i was pregnant. i fear that would make it hurt more now (i have not tried that pregnant) i might try though.

october, epsom salts are awesome. i got a container of it (why does it always come in a milk shape carton haha) right at the beginning of the summer cause it is so good for swollen feet.

I also recommend light stretching. Sitting on the ground and doing legs stretch and just moving in ways that feel good and don't forget to breath through the stretches.

Yes, stretching and strengthening is important! Here are some to try:

Do the cat arches on your hands and knees (arch your back way up, hold, then way down and hold).
Then lay on your back and lift your pelvis off the floor.
Then lay on your back and drape one leg over to one side, leaving your shoulders flat, switch sides.
Pelvic rocks while sitting can be helpful (but often hurt my pubic bone thanks to my SPD).
On your hands and knees, get head down butt up and stay there for a while.

All these exercises will keep blood flowing to your pelvis, will help move all those muscles and ligaments, and may encourage baby to move to a different position which could relieve some pain.

Chiro is a biggie, as is the pillow at night, the warm soaks, and just plain taking it easy when you can!

But if this is SPD you must be careful when stretching, if you do at all.
Look up Spd in pregnancy and chat with your midwife about it.

powpow i was looking at SPD last night and i think that is what it is. I have been doing yoga throughout pregnancy and i have the pregnancy pillow that 2boys posted about.

last night i took the advice of a website posting on SPD and instead of keeping my knees seperated i held them together, and held them together each time i turned over and it totally helped. normally i wake up in severe pain but that helped alleviate a bit.

i will definitely be talking with my midwife about this at our next appt. which is in two weeks.
