found a cure for cp issues

I just thought I would share with any of you mamas out there who are having issues with constipation. Raising Bran. It is fantastic. I started eating a big bowl of it every day and after the FIRST day my issues were solved. I just thought I would share for other mamas like me who have tried EVERYTHING ELSE!

I just bought 3 bags....Want to make SURE I don't run out!

Add some slivered almonds to that and you'll find it helps too!

I found eating 2 small apples or 1 big apple per day plus lots of water helps tremendously with constipation. Really, any kind of food with high fiber helps. I've heard some ladies swear by oatmeal. The trick is to drink lots and lots and lots of water. Also, adding Colace at night to soften stools can help. You can buy it in generic form OTC, it's not too expensive, and safe during pregnancy. My sister says the only thing that helped her during her 3 pregnancies was apple juice and Colace.

I was on Zofran for Hyperemesis for about 2 months and, while it helped me deal with the nausea/vomiting, the constipation was awful and NOTHING worked. Zofran is notorious for that and I'm so glad to be off of it!

I'm on Zofran which says on the PI sheet "monitor for severe constipation."

I get PLENTY of fiber, which is probably why I don't have to live on Colace like some patients, but there is no amount of bran that would cure my constipation.
