S/O Making the Most of Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, etc.

This came up on the Volusion thread but I was just thinking maybe we could all give each other some ideas on how we use social networking software to promote our businesses, SEO, etc.

Right now I'm pushing my blog posts to Twitter which pushes them to Facebook but I haven't done anything beyond that. When I set it up I was just concerned with getting my blog posts crawled a bit more. I'm told I should set up both with more info about my company and start really creating a social network.

What do you do?

I don't use my blog, Facebook or Twitter to their true potential either. I haven't figured out how to do anchor text on Facebook yet, but I'm sure there is a way (for boosting SEO). So far, it's sort of been a supplement to my newsletters. I update it every time I get a new product in, or if I'm running any sales.

I know the big thing right now for both are to have company accounts and fan pages. Since I'm not selling anything I don't have either, but that seems to be what is showing up among people I've friended or followed.

Two of my stores have Facebook pages, and I like that it gives me a quick way to post updates. The struggle is getting people to become "fans." It takes forever, and looks bad when there are only a few. lol, as you can see, right now I'm pretty desperate on one of them

You can push your blog posts to twitter? I hadn't heard of that.. off to research!

I hadn't done Twitter yet because I wasn't sure what I'd post there. But if I can push my blog posts that would rock!

OK, so I used this plugin at WordPress: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/twitter-tools/ to plug in my business blog to twitter. Very easy! I then figured out how to push those updates to my personal facebook. (I dont have a business facebook)
