After 40 hours of laboring at home and being at 4 cm the entire time (including 6 hours after my water broke spontaneously), we decided to forgo the homebirth plans and get an epi for some rest (I haven't slept in 3 days). Got to the hospital this morning at 5am, got an epi, started pit, they eventually turned it up all the way and i never got past a 5 or had strong contractions (according to their little monitor). The baby is posterior and the head is acynclitic so after speaking to our midwifes and the doctors, everyone thought it best to go ahead with a c-section. It's scheduled for 20 minutes from now, so I'd like good thought vibes that everything goes well. I'm sad, but know that there was likely nothing else we could have done and have accepted it. Dh and I cried, but are excited to meet our baby. I'll try to keep the announcement thread updated as soon as possible. Good luck with your babies!
