shelf life of seaweed?

cleaning out my cupboard and just found two open packages - one is kombu and the other is agar agar.

i think they are at least a year old. (maybe older. )

still good or should i compost them?

I have some Nori sheets too that are around 1 yr old? :

I assume these are dried sea veggies? Those should keep for years. Even if they are "past their prime", they may slowly lose flavor and nutrition. They're not likely to grow bacteria or mold that can sicken you.

it looked and smelled fine to me so i went ahead and cooked with the kombu tonight.

I would think they are just fine.
