Gauze wrap or solarveil ring sling for beach/pool?

I have a new solarveil ring sling but am now thinking of getting a gauze wrap instead. The fabric just seems too scratchy to me, though I admit I haven't really used it much with DD yet. I do love wrapping though, and so does DH, so I'm thinking a gauze wrap might be better all around. I know gypsy mama makes a water wrap out of swimsuit material, but that just sounds way too hot to me.

Any thoughts on gauze wraps vs solarveil ring sling? I want something that is comfy in and out of water on a hot day - we're more likely to be walking around the beach than sitting in the pool

My skin is really sensitive in the sun and I've found solarveil to just be too scratchy. I have an adjustible pouch from chicslings in solarweave (like men's bathing suit material) and that might make for a pretty ok wrap. I do think that even gauze would retain a lot of water - and esp. wrapped might not dry fast enough. Our final solution was a polyester mesh ringsling from taylormade - also nice because it's quicker in/out than a wrap and we can trade kids more easily (we have a pool, so water-wearing is a big issue round here ).
