Alternative medicine doesn't equal no vax

I just finished reading Healthy Child, Whole Child by Dr. Stuart Ditchek and Dr. Russell Greenfield. I thought the book would be a great way to find alternate ways to treat illnesses if DH has a problem. Anyway, the long story short is the book is VERY, VERY pro vax. They recommend parents follow the CDC and APA's schedule for vaccination. They also talk about vaccine conspiracists and essentially say those who don't vax are wrong. Since these doctors are into alternative medicine to keep children healthy I thought being pro vax would be an oxymoron.

In the chapter for treating the flu they once again mention how necessary the flu vax is and that infants and kids who get the flu shot are rarely hospitalized for the flu which is grossly incorrect.

I just wondered other peoples thoughts on this.

Well they are MD's right??

MD's that claim to be "holistic" are still MD's who were trained in mainstream medicine and indoctrinated with provax propaganda.

I feel the only true "alternative" practitioner is one who has been trained in a alternative field like an ND. I know lots of ND;s and none of them are provax (although Im sure there are ones out there)

I've known some MDs who were critical of vaccines and either didn't give vaccines at all or only did limited vaccines. As it happens, all of them were anthroposophical doctors. They were all licensed MDs.

I have the book Smart Medicine for a Healthier Child. It talks about every childhood illness and lists convential, nutrional, homeopathic, herbal, accupressure points, etc... ways of dealing with each one. They are against vaccines but its very subtly put. I love the book. My daughter hasn't had any serious illnesses but I have used it quite a bit.

I'm going to get this at the library tomorrow. I'm looking forward to checking it out. Thanks!
