let's make a list of nature craft ideas!

I am compiling some ideas for ages 3+ for a gathering mid summer! I thought this might make a good topic for this board! TIA!

One of my favorites is nature bracelets. Just wrap a piece of sticky tape, sticky side outwards round you child's wrist. They can collect all sorts of little bits and bobs and stick them on.

We also like making mini gardens. Put some compost in a shallow tray and use things you find to build your garden. For example a shell makes a good pond, pinecones and twigs can make trees and bushes. If you like you can even sprinkle on some grass seeds to make your garden grow.

Great thread idea!

My son likes to wrap pinecones with different colors and textures of yarn, weaving in and out of the petals or just wrapping around the outside of the shape. They look sweet displayed in a bowl or hung individually as ornaments.

Something that I have been wanting to do is to use florist wire and dried flowers, sticks, etc. to form the letters of my child's name to use as decoration on their bedroom wall.

Every summer we make a fairy house out of twigs, moss, rocks, pine cones. Basically anything we can find in our backyard.

What a great idea! My 3-year-old would love this, and I think my older dd would too!

We like to make bark boats with big pieces of bark or lightweight wood for a base. We have a hand-powered drill that even my 3.5 yo can use to drill holes for the twig masts. We just discovered the modeling wax works really well to secure the masts into place. Then we use leaves or fabric scraps for sails. It's fun to make an extra hole to attach a pulling string. My 7 yo loves making little "men" from pebbles and nuts to ride on the boat.
