Could this be possible...gluten free making DS try more new things?

We've been on Feingold for the last year, but a week ago...just to see if it would make a further improvement, really, we started trying gluten free. Since then, I think there have been behavior improvements, although I'm cautiously optimistic until I talk to his teacher to see how things have been at school. One thing I've noticed, though, is that he's been more willing to try new foods. He's always been pretty fussy about meat...usually sticks to chicken...always has to be "the same." In the last week, though, he has tried salmon (and I'm pretty sure he liked it), chicken cooked a different way, and pork chops! The pork chops I cut into thin strips and grilled them with the sauce he likes for ribs, and called them "riblets." But DH and I were eating the whole pork chops, and he asked for more of ours! He has always refused pork chops, and he had to know that's what the riblets were! So I'm wondering, is the timing just a coincidence, or is there something about going GF that's made the difference? Maybe gluten bothers his tummy (although he's never said anything), and he just feels more like eating? What's the scoop on GF? And...does anyone know of some good recipe resources for GF?

Absolutely, happens quite a bit actually!

Not all of these blogs are 100% gluten free, but most are- I have used all for some good recipes.

I have seen this recipe praised more than one place as the best gf bread:

Here are 2 pancake recipes:

I have a bunch more individual recipes, but it would take forever to post. Mostly I just make recipes as I go and modify as need be or make things naturally gf.

Most definitely. Before she went gf, my dd would only reliably eat peanut butter for protein, and the odd sausage. Now, she eats steak, lamb, ribs, among others. And her vegetable repetoire has increased too.

Isn't that interesting (and welcome)! I wonder what the reason is? Obviously, I'm fairly clueless on the whole thing, I'll have to get reading.

Thank you for the links!

I think partly it's because eating didn't hurt any more, and partly that so much was verbotim that she had no choice but to expand. I don't really care, I'm just glad it happened - even if it is all the expensive meats.

I have recipes on my blog too. My DD2 is a pretty adventurous eater, and though DS is picky, he likes some weird food (like curried chickpeas for breakfast a lot of mornings).

I can't wait to try some of the recipes on your blog! My DS will be very excited about the marshmallows, lol. Thank you!
