New week, New thread! June 15-21 - Page 3

I am getting the house all ready for company!!! Today I am shampooing carpets and downsizing Ds's toy box.

My Little BIL is coming down next fri for about a week. At the same time my Sis and niece and nephew should be coming in from NY that we havent seen since thanksgiving. She is staying until the birth so she can see they new baby. We probably wont be seeing her agian for another year or so. She will be spoiling Ds like crazy because he has grown so much and hopefully it will be an easier transition for him to be a big brother if he is kept busy.

So I am feeling great besides back/hip pain which I also have days were I have no pain and thats kinda weird lol.It has already been in the mid 90's everyday this week so we have been swimming alot lately and Ds is loving it and I hope it can help my body get in shape for the birth.

ETA I was measuring 36 weeks at 32 weeks and Ob thinks this baby will be bigger then DS (7lb 4 oz) ahh only time will tell.

Cleaning the house today. Dh put a new light fixture in the laundry room so I need to paint the ceiling where the old one was. We are doing carseat switcheroo. Washing the four youngest seats to move them around. Tonight I have a MNO and I will pick up the dresser we ordered. Then I can move the baby's clothes into it. I need to get a bit of groceries and mail a package too. Busy day.

Dh left to get his mom and help her move to our town... his aunt is also moving (on her own, she and her sister will share a duplex about a half hour from here). I'm stoked about the move and am thrilled to finally have child care options but this weekend is going to be rough.

Spring... I am so sorry! Hang in there. Maybe you could bow out for at least one afternoon and just sit with your feet in a bucket of lavender/mint water while sipping some sort of yummy non-alcoholic beverage? I like Lime Rickies when pregnant... not as yummy as a mojito, but still pretty good!

Spring, I feel that way when pregnant too. It is hard when your body changes and just feels gross. I'm feeling like a ginormous cow these days too. I know I'm not "fat" but I'm also not the regular me and I don't like that. Just wanted to let you know that you are not alone. We'll be back to ourselves soon! Congrats on your major Target order, I hope you are able to work things out and get it out in time. I'm so curious to know which kind of carriers you make! Can you post if someone asks?

OMG I just figured out which carriers you make They are absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Thanks for the help! I finished all the work that was really needed to do today, and then I rested, ate, swam, read a book a little. I am feeling a bit better now. I talked to my midwife and she thinks the bumps are just an allergy. I took Benadryl and that helped a lot. I am now going to put ds to bed and read a book. I am not sure why I thought I could do a trip like this. I have to travel by car another 6 hours on Sunday and then the plane on Monday. Wish me luck!

Aw, thanks! I never want to feel like I am spamming, but it a big part of my life right not not to talk about it at all. It is a big thing that I created and did, that I am proud of and glad took off, and at the same time I wish I could just sell it and be done with it. I don't like doing it AT ALL anymore. I would much rather just be a mom and do the photography when I want. Anyways, we will always have enough slings for all our babies!

I'm so bad about baby carriers... I just can't say no! Well, given our budget I don't have much choice these days, but mmmmmmm.... yummy. Fortunately for the wallet we already have a few slings (a maya, two from WAHMs, plus a few I made), two ergos, two soft infantino carriers (dh really likes these), and a moby (though I lent that out a year or so ago and have no clue who has it now).

I met a lot of great people a few years ago making slings for families affected by Katrina. And while I don't "need" any new carriers (I did pick one up at the thrift store the other day for 2 dollars) I'm going to make baby doll slings for dd1 and dd2 as part of the big sib basket.

Right now the plan for the basket includes slings and dipes for the two baby dolls, season three of the muppet show, fruit leather and jerkey and gluten free "cookies", and probably some art supplies (crayons, tiny notebooks, stickers).

I am a baby carrier junky too. I like to try so many different kinds to find the perfect fit. Thank g-d for the FS forum on thebabywearer! I've bought and sold a billion different carriers in the past 2 years without investing much money at all. They have some great deals on used carriers!

Jilian, I've seen you on FSOT I too am obsessed, and I can't wait to break out a few choice newborn wraps.

Stacey, I love your pouches! I've seen them before...actually, I almost ordered that gorgeous yellow/pink solarveil last year for our Rincon trip but ended up scoring a water wrap off a friend. Maybe you can tell me, why does nobody make a solarweave pouch? Seems like a nice smooth material for little ones.

I'm feeling...ugh, huge these days. Took a three-hour nap today with DD and still dragged ass all day. Did a prenatal yoga yesterday morning which was good but quite athletic, and nobody else seemed to suffer from my crazy pelvic floor pain. I can't raise my leg from all fours, not even a little bit. I'm stoked, though, I'll hopefully make a class on Monday and then I get my favorite class on Wednesday for sure since my mom will be out for a few days to watch Nicky.

Hotslings used to make a solorweave pouch, I'm pretty sure.

Hotslings used to have solarviel too, but don't sell water slings at all anymore. Solarviel went out of business, so it looks like next year we will be doing colarweave. I got fabric samples and solarweave just seems so thin.

So I am back from my trip and feel ten pounds lighter!!! It was really awful-I beg you not to travel if you all don't have to. It was 104 degrees there eyesterday and the humidity was horrendous. I could hardley breathe, move, walk, or do anything. I am finally back in CO and feel light and happy again. I feel for all of you in the south

Oh, and the plane ride was filled with the strongest and moset frequent contractions I have had so far. I just breathed through them and did not tell anyone bc I was afraid that they would stop the plane or something. I am still having them and they are pretty stong but not as frequent as they were before.

I am taking benydral three times a day for this rash and it is helping a lot, but it is still not going away and the benydral is giving me awful nightmares and making me so sleepy and lethargic. I see my midwife tomorrow so hopefully she can help more.

Ugh! So sorry it was a nightmare. I'm SO dreading the trip I have to make on Wednesday xcountry. I'm leaving the South for the fairer climate of the PNW, so it's not the weather I'm worried about. It's the plane rides, the endless family chit chatting (dp's family! and it's a reunion!), the lack of independence, the not being at home, the SIL's endless questions about our plans, our finances, our career objectives... ARGH. Just the thought...

Usually I have a pretty good time when we go out there in the summers. My ds gets to play with his cousins, etc. But this year, I have been totally holding out for something drastic to come up and interrupt the trip. So far no luck.

Rest up and hopefully those cntraxns will go away! Sounds like you're going through a lot right now. Hugs.

Ug. 100 degrees all week. Heat index will be 105-110. Yeah, I'll be staying inside. I hate summer even when I'm not pregnant. :P
