I made some baby legs out of (really ugly) socks from Goodwill. They came out alright, for being done by hand. I keep thinking that I won't need to use them or baby socks until the cooler months... then I remember how cold boyfriend and his family keep their house. : It's about 60 degrees F year-round!

I had my first birth dream last night. I dreamed that I just woke up, and the baby was coming out. And, that it was a boy.

Last pregnancy, I had vivid dreams of birthing a 9lb baby girl....but, in real life, I got a 6.5 lb baby boy, though, so I'm not putting much stock in my dreams being prophetic!

I think it just means that my subconscious is starting to really think about this whole birth/baby thing! About time!!!

Yup, my body does that too. I always wake up at 1am, 3am and 5am.

At this point, I would gladly take 2 hours of sleep in a row! I am up pretty much constantly. I think for the last 2 weeks I have gotten about 2 hours of sleep each night. This happened with my last pregnancy, too - some kind of hormone induced insomnia, I think. I am walking around like a zombie and sometimes I am actually afraid to get in my car and drive because I am so tired. I have tried herbals, meditation, reading, hot baths, etc... but really, I am not all that stressed about it so whatever my body does at this point is fine with me.

The good thing is that Dh can't hear the sewing machine from the basement so I have been getting A LOT done in the middle of the night! I ended up making my pre-folds instead of buying them!!

I'm taking DS1 to pick out a gift for the baby tonight, and he will also receive one "from the baby," I also just bought lanolin and lansinoh nursing pads (I remembered these were the only one that felt good on my sore nips last time-even though I have TONS of cloth ones). I also got hospital bag mostly packed.

My DH just decided he thinks this LO will be born on our nephew's birthday (June 21) and I realized that is Father's Day--that would be too cool! (though I wanted DS1 to be born on Mother's Day and he didn't--but, that would have made him almost 2wks past his EDD).

We also have been telling DS1 his brother will come out after he sees fireworks (July 3rd and 4th) so I DH wants to buy some "sparklers" to set off if I go into labor early LOL

Oh--3 contractions sense I got on MDC...but, they will totally stop...like every other day--in fact, I didn't even time them lol because I *know* they will go away!

I'm 37 weeks today :.

Baby has finally moved. For the longest time he was laying kinda sideways, with his bum under my ribs to the left and his head under my right hip, with his feet under my ribs on the right. Now he's got his head engaged : and did some gymnastic maneuver and he has feet way on my left side. It was weird last night going Hm, that's a new place for a foot!

Oh, and I'm finally ordering my birth tub today .

I'm 38 weeks also. I cleaned out the car today to make room for a carseat, my minivan is now full. Now i need to do some housecleaning, having the kids home for the summer means a much messier home. I did get babyclothes and diapers washed and i need to get my birth kit out of the trunk and then i'll be pretty much ready. I would love to clean my carpets, they are looking dirty. But i know a new baby won't care so it will be an extracurricular activity if i find time. I wake up around 5 am and can't get back to sleep. I usually pass out again around 7 until my lil one wakes me up. We are going to have lots of births happening in the next few weeks! So exciting. I'm hoping for a Cancer baby which i believe happens on the 22nd. But i have always wanted a solstice baby. We shall see.

my sleeping patterns are kind of wacky lately too, though I'm having absolutely no trouble getting a lot of sleep. I fell asleep at about midnight last night and then was up a 6 and couldn't get back to sleep. So I stayed up until 9 and then fell back asleep until 1:30 in the afternoon! It's so nice to just be working part time and not also going to school. I pretty much let myself sleep whenever my body signals the need, unless I'm about to leave for work.

Tracymom, that's awesome about getting the sewing done. I have lots to do in that arena. I'm heading out today to get some flannel for cloth wipes (Joann's snuggle flannel is 2.50 a yard right now!) I figure I can make 40 wipes for about 10 bucks with the sale now.

In other good news, I just talked to my sister in law who gave birth a couple of weeks ago, and she's got a lot of newborn stuff and some birth supplies she didn't use Her daughter was 9 1/2 lbs and didn't fit the newborn things for more than the first week! So I can cross a few things off my lists!

I went thrift store shopping and Costco shopping today.. got some newborn clothes and lots of snacks for after baby comes.

I'm not really excited about either gemini or cancer

And.. I am also having the same problem not being able to get back to sleep after I wake up at night.

I'm right with all you ladies when it comes to sleep. Once I wake up to use the bathroom the first time, it all goes downhill from there. I have tried leaving all the lights off hoping that I won't fully wake up, but by the time I get back to the bed and get comfortable again, my mind is racing and it takes forever to get back to sleep.

The good news is that I will be 38 week tomorrow so the end is in sight.

Arrrgggghhhhhh my order from Amazon (my birth pool) was cancelled for no reason! The only other store on Amazon that has it is charging me $50 to ship a $25 item! Arrrghhhh.

Last night was so miserable! Ack! I took a nice relaxing bath and all the sudden i was severely nauseous with a waterey mouth and horrible stomach cramps. I laid on the floor by the toilet and even though i really needed to throw up i wouldn't let myself because i was worried it would break my waters. I didn't know what was causing the stomach upset and i sure didn't want to be in labor with it. It took over an hour before i could get up and i was alternating between hot and cold and really lightheaded. I found some homeopathics for stomach upset and after two doses i was able to get into bed. I woke up once feeling the ick again but took another dose and fell asleep. Today my stomach is so sore but i feel tons better. I wonder what caused that!? Luckily i have an accupuncture appointment this morning so hopefully she can help me out.

I saw the positive thread this morning and thought, uh no nothing i could say is positive right now

I got a nasty stomach bug a couple weeks ago and puking made me have contrax.

I'm glad you are feeling a bit better. How sucky to get a stomach bug right near the end of pregnancy. I hope the acupuncture makes you feel fabulous!

The accupuncture was good, i came home and slept as much as my 5 kids would allow me inbetween all the questions, get me a snack, and help me go potty. I told her about last night and she asked me if it was a spiritual purging which is exactly what i thought it was. It was so quick and so bizarre how it just happened out of nowhere. That is my belief!

I'm looking forward to the solstice weekend. I don't have a dad and i certainly will not celebrate the father of my children so solstice celebrating it is!
