Frustrated/Conflicted/Annoyed... GAH

So I know I already posted about this once but I don't really have anywhere else to try and figure this stuff you so you guys get to read about it. As of this point in time we have a repeat c/s scheduled for the 18th. We were REALLY hoping for a VBAC but nothing seems to be happening so we scheduled it, not like they can make us do it that day though. Anyway, I will 41.5 weeks that day, we think. I really do NOT want another c/s but I also want a healthy baby. The OB thinks we may be having the same issue we had with my son, GIANT head + tiny pelvis. Anyway... there are some positive signs that did not happen at all with my son. I am dilated to 2 cms, am having sporadic contractions, though nothing painful just uncomfortable, and lost my plug. I think that our plan is to wait till my appointment Wednesday (if nothing happens before then) and see how things are progressing. If I have dilated more we might talk about trying to induce, or pushing the c/s off till Monday. If nothing is happening we will probably just go ahead with it on Thursday... I don't really know what the point of this post is, I am just a little overwhelmed right now!!!

Is a slow induction an option? Would you consider trying castor oil or anything? I wouldnt worry about the head/pelvis things. Bones smoosh and stretch - and its not the head pushing on the cervix that makes you dilate, its a seperate event. 2cms's is great, do you think your doc would strip your membranes?

Keep us posted.

She has stripped my membranes twice so far, didn't really do much that I could tell but I guess it wouldn't hurt to try it again!! I have only heard horror stories about castor oil so I don't know if I would want to try that... I think my OB would be pretty open to trying anything as far as induction so we will definitely be talking about all our options Wednesday. I just want him to come on his own!!!!!

Castor oil is a LOT better then a c-section, I will tell you that. You will get the runs (tmi, sorry) but it wont be like recovering from surgery. If vbac was an option for me, I would choose that any day over the c-section.

Have you tried parsley tea? Pumping?

What does parsley tea do? I actually had a really easy recovery last time... I was pretty much back to normal after a week or 2... but I definitely want to avoid it if possible!!!

Oh I had a super easy c-section, 4 actually, but the castor oil is still not as bad.

Parsley tea in early pg can induce miscarriage or help bring on a period if you are late and not pg. However, in later pg, if your body is ready, it can cause uterine contractions that will put you into labor. It has worked in the past and my friends swear by it too. Anyway, you can google parsley tea for a good recipe. It tastes gross, but it does work, and if it doesn't, it doesn't hurt. I added sugar to my tea to get it down. I would try that before the castor oil just cause the oil tastes even worse.
