tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiny bedrooms... - Page 3

I ran across this blog entry on closet bedrooms and thought you might find inspiration in the photos.

Small rooms can be delightful, as long as they are designed well and the space is used to maximum advantage. You could also check out some books on Japanese architecture - they are masters at doing a lot with very tiny amounts of space.

I don't know the gender of my baby yet, but my husband and I really want to decorate and to paint our baby's room in a neutral way, but however with a child touch... Have any of you an idee? I want to avoid the typicall yellow, white....

Hi.  Grey seems to be very popular right now for nurseries:  http://www.ohdeedoh.com/ohdeedoh/good-questions/looking-for-the-perfect-gray-paintgood-questions-133587

If you look around the ohdeedoh site, you'll find lots of inspiration for children's rooms.

You may want to start a new thread in The Mindful Home forum. A lot of people will read the first post of this thread from 2009, and respond to it, without realizing that you've asked a different question entirely.

our bedrooms are 10 x 10 and for a while all three girls shared one.  I think that bedroom is fine.  I would recommend taking the measurements and going to ikea and seeing what you can work out.  Is there a reason the boys could not share a room?  Also remember it will be about 6 years before he needs a twin bed.  before that he can be in a toddler bed.  and you can maybe finish the basement or rearrange rooms etc when the time comes to see what works for everyone.  My dd sleeps in the corner of the attic playroom and has sheets for walls.  This was how she was the only way she could get out of her sisters room.

You mentioned the closet was big.....could you maybe make the closet a built in bed space sort of thing and just put his clothes somewhere else.  Poor Ava has very little closet space as before she was born her closet was the linen closet and that just never changed (because where else are we going to put our towels? )

Things have been pretty fluid here as everyone has grown and changed.  We have three bedrooms (two of which are 10 x 10) and one bathroom.  a semi finished attic and basement (which we use) and a bunch of really poorly organized space.  but everyone has a place to be and it isn't always the typical arrangement but it works.  and I could easily see squeezing a couple more kids in this place.

I would go ahead and do it! And have fun redecorating your small space! That are lots of books available for suggestions... I read one not too long ago, I can't remember the exact title, but it made me wish I owned a tiny house so that I could have fun with it!
