I seen that someone here has asked about bc pills and depression b4 but no one answered. So i am hoping someone can help. I have had ppd for almost 3 months and i am getting better, not great but better, now i really want to get on the pill. The thing that worries me is that i have heard some negative things about the pill such as depression becoming worse and mood swings. I dont need that right now, but i also DO NOT want to get pregnant! So does anyone know from experince if the bc pill will aggravate the depression or make it come back? I took it b4 i got pg and never had problems. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

It's going to be different for everyone. My personal experience with BCP was that I exibited signs of bipolar, but that was about 5 years before I was diagnosed.
I would meet with a psychiatrist, and discuss your options for treatment for your PPD, along with wanting some form of birth control.
Perhaps a non-hormonal birth control would be a better option.

I have a friend who went on the mini-pill, and it made her mood swings way worse -- she was mad all the time. But we each respond differently to medications and hormones. If you were really fertile or are not breastfeeding full time, then you certainly could become pregnant, so it's something to think about. There are many ways to prevent pregnancy, not all of them involve the pill.
