OB now midwife later

I think this is what I'm going to do. I want to get an early scan at a particular office, which I believe only works with OBs. I figure I may want the OB ultimately - it is possible - so I'm shopping around, even if my ideal is to home birth with a midwife.

After tonight, that's what I'm going to have to do. They said that I have a threatened miscarriage, which is pretty much what they call anything when you're bleeding/spotting a lot. I really don't want to give birth in the hospital if I can avoid it, and I've already had issues with the office staff that the OB that I've chosen. I have yet to meet the Dr. herself, but she comes highly recommended by my boss, who is a conservative nurse practitioner...very much into natural health, etc. So, we'll see how it goes. One thing is for darn sure, I will NOT continue to go to someone that I'm not comfortable with...
