Big baby and c-section

I have lots of carriers from being a nanny and was so looking forward to babywearing my own little one. Unfortunately, her planned homebirth turned cesarean over the weekend and she turned out to be over 10 lbs! When will I likely be filling up to wearing her? What will be the most comfortable to start with considering the incision and her weight? I have 2 stretchy wraps, 1 gmbbb, 1 beco, 1 hotsling, 1 ring sling, a babyhawk mt for me, and a babyhawk in a dh pattern (oh, and I just won an ergo from mom's milk boutique! woo hoo!). Suggestions? Thanks!

I also had an unplanned section, and carried my 9 pound, 14 ounce baby within days of her birth in my ring sling (nice and high and tight) and Moby. I didn't have incision issues with either. I wouldn't touch my Mei Tai or SSC for about 3 months because the waist tie/belt was NOT good for the incision.

Yeap. The moby and ring sling are awesome and don't put much stress at all on the incision site. My DD was 8 pounds at birth. I couldn't walk upright without feeling awful for about 2 weeks, at which point my DD was about 10 lbs. I used the moby till I got a ring sling when she was 2 months old. Then I switched between the two.

But I'm a big baby and I didn't feel comfortable standing up straight and holding the baby 'cause I was just glued and taped up and I thought my insides would fall out. So... Take that time frame with a grain of salt.

Thank you! I stared wearing her in our stretchy wrap at 6 days and it was great!

i also had a c and got an ergo when my dd about 4weeks old; until then i had tried a baby k'tan, but it was to hard for me to stretch in. i actually like how the ergo waistbelt felt on my incision-made me feel like it was holding it in. i love my ergo, and still wear her 10 months later. she never liked slings very much tho. good luck! and congrats
