I think my baby is totally upside down this morning!!! I think she flipped sometime last time because this morning I have a noticeable bump on top and constant kicking in my groin, ouch! I know babies are constantly turning but am kind of worried...this is my 27th week. Is there something I can/should be doing to turn the baby around? Is it too early to worry about breech?

Should I be worried about the baby's position at this stage?

My understanding is it is too early to worry about position. That being said, whenever I feel the baby active I do my yoga cat-cow stretches to get that baby locked in position. My baby has been hanging out in loa for a while now, though sometimes it gets a little active and likes to move it's little tush over to my right side
The cat-cow is so simple to do, just go down on the floor on all fours with arms shoulder width apart. Your back should be held flat, then go into the cow position by lowering your belly a bit, so your shoulder and pelvis go a bit higher. Then reverse and curl your back up so it's a bit higher than your shoulders and pelvis. I'm sure you can google search it and find pics

i just saw my midwife and when she was checking things i let her know that the LO loved to stay all scrunched up on my right side. She felt around and said, yeah, there is no part of the baby over here on the left, that is funny. then tried to figure out the position and said, lo is definitely not head down but it is fine, they get there when they need to
there is always that baby spinning site. http://www.spinningbabies.com/

really thought i think we have some time before we need to worry

i think it's too early to worry also but i hear ya!!! i'm curious what position my baby is in now. it's so hard for me to tell. baby likes to hang on my right side and that's where i think s/he is. i want them on the left (correct left is ROA?) but i'm not too stressed about it. i do plan to do positioning techniques later on though.

Definitely too early, from what I understand. This little guy is transverse but seems to sort of switch between transverse and breech. If I get to 30, 32 weeks and he's still not head-down I'll be worried but at the moment I don't care. I'm okay with not getting kicked in the ribs or stomach at the moment, transverse is more comfortable for me since he's just kicking out at the sides or at my belly button. I'll work on positioning techniques in a couple weeks but I'm not quite 26 weeks yet so I figure he still has plenty of time to figure out where he's supposed to be headed.

Too early to worry, but I'm still working on taking my own advice on this one
This baby seems to really like transverse, which neither of my other boys ever did! Both my other boys were head down from my 20 week ultrasound on, but this guy has yet to be head down.
So yeah...I'm one of those belly pokers who is constantly trying to figure out position of baby and anxiously waiting for him to just turn head down already!

Thanks!! I also just looked at the spinningbabies website, they suggest everyone should try to do 30 sec of 'the inversion' which looks a little bit like downward dog from my prenatal yoga class - I'm going to try to remember to do that outside of the class a little bit, may be that will get her to move. And who knows she may be back head down tonight

I'm 28 weeks and saw my midwives today- my baby is apparently footling breech at the moment. They said that 3rd babies often take a little more time getting head down than their earlier siblings and told me not to worry much before seeing them next month. They did suggest looking at the spinning babies website, visualizing baby turning head down, and if baby really doesn't want to move, doing headstands in the pool (what a show that will be)- but like I said, not to worry about it at all for another month.
Personally, my last baby got his head down on my pubic bone for the entire second half of my pregnancy (which really hurt), and I'm kind of enjoying carrying this baby this way. I also have this weird feeling this baby wants to be born breech, but since around here even with midwives most breech babies end up in a c-section, that isn't good.

I mentioned it to hubby recently, clarified for him the different forms of breech presentation. I also wondered outloud to him after our birth center orientation class whether they would allow me to deliver there with a frank breech (my guess is no, but I didn't actually ask the question, and the paperwork doesn't specify).
WHY am I so fixated on breech?? I need to do some mental thinking about this, let myself fully consider it, then work on getting it out of my head in favor of more positive birth thoughts.

I personally, wonder if my fears of breech have to do with the fact that I feel like my last birth was such a good birth, how can I plan to have a birth like that again? I don't know. If you come up with any good insights do let me know- maybe I'll see if I can look in the mirror and draw a heads down baby on my belly to get me and baby thinking in the right direction (picture an upside down stick figure baby- I am not an artist).

headstands in the pool?? WTH?
i blew up the ol' birth ball today and am sitting my butt on it right now. i was reading spinning babies and apparently some things are never too early to start. wish i would have seen that before! anyway....i think my baby is head down (i'll ask MW tomorrow) but i am pretty sure s/he's posterior so i'm going to go ahead and start to work on it now, just in case. i tend to sit in a reclining position a lot to read or while on the laptop so i need to develop some new habits. i'm paranoid about having an extremely long labor due to a posterior baby. but i am also not able to figure out a comfortable position for reading and stuff. *whine*

I'm there with ya. All three of my kids were head down from the get-go. This one is all over the place. And frankly, traverse is the worst with breech-foot-in-my-cervix coming in close second! I'm a little nervous about how much this one flips and turns. And today was downright uncomfortable, with his feet kicking me in the belly button. Twelve more weeks, OY!

This little girl has been breech or transverse for at least 6 weeks now and I'm beginning to freak out about it. DD #1 was head down and engaged by 24 weeks, so this is a totally new sensation.
I think I'm overly nervous about it because I love my midwives, and this one of the only reasons they'd have to refer me to their backup OB. Combine that with the fact that I had an insanely fast labor last time. If I arrive at the hospital with a bottom down baby "crowning", would they let me push her out or would they force me into an emergency C-section? It's terrifies me to think about it!

I think it depends a lot on your practitioner whether they would go ahead and deliver vaginally or not with a breech baby presenting. If labor was so fast baby presented before they could do anything about it, they have to deliver her- its not like they can push her back in and then do the C-Section, right? However, there are a lot of different breech positions, some baby can be delivered in and some can't- like transvers. I think most doctors would try to pressure you to set a date for a c-seciton with a breech baby that was full term. (I'm also nervous about this)
My first born didn't flip until 30 weeks or so- so I'm hoping this one is going to flip soon like her sister did.
