I am 36 weeks!!! I have had so much PTL and pelvic rest and scary things happen lately and I just keep counting until I hit 36 weeks and I can have my homebirth. 2 weeks and 5 days.... I AM certainly counting....

My home visit is July 3rd. Anyone else know the date of theirs?

Yes.. I think hitting 36/37 weeks is a big milestone even when you DON'T have PTL. It seems at the end, everyday is precious. The home visit with my midwives and doula and DP should be a lot of fun.

DP and I went over labor pain relief measures last night. I took some of my doula handouts out and we went over counterpressure and hip presses, the birth ball, what I liked and did not like during my first labor. This morning, he took the handouts to work to read them and really study them further. We talked about his role in the birth and what I expected and what he expected. It was really nice.

Here's to a quick 2 weeks and 5 days!

I'm 33 weeks and just yesterday decided with my OB to get the steroid treatment. I've had PTL and am now dilated to 3 cm. My contractions get really intense in the mornings - yesterday they woke me up at 4:30 am and were between 3 and 5 minutes apart. By 7:30 am we were just about to leave for the hospital when they started spacing out again and by 8:00 am they were not as painful. So, I saw the doc yesterday afternoon and we decided the benefits were significant for this little one if I had the treatment. I feel a sense of relief that if she does come this early she's had a little boost to her lung development.

But, knowing me she will stay camped out where she is for another 6 or so weeks. I want her to wait at least until I'm 36 weeks and then I'll be more than ready for her to arrive.

Best wishes!!!

I BUG the crap out of my MW's. My PTL is mostly due to infections. I am only about 1 CM dialated which is GREAT. I am glad that they started the steroid shots for you. YOU CAN MAKE IT! 3 weeks! YOU CAN MAKE IT...

Sweet! But I want to caution you about thinking you'll go early because you might not. With DS2 I had PTL from 24 weeks until about 35 weeks, then nothing. He apparently has a great sense of humor because he was born the day AFTER his due date. All that time I was just trying to make it to 37 weeks and then nothing. Try to mentally prepare yourself to go late just in case because if you make it past 37 weeks you'll start to feel "late".

Man I wish I was that close to the end. I have a little over 9 weeks to go and it feels like it's going to be an eternity.

So glad you've made it this far!!! Just a little more to go, mama

Jillian- Abrielle was that way. I am ok with the fact that she may come later, like her sister. It will just be nice to not fear the contractions at all.

Congratulations, especialy having to deal with PTL, for the same reasons as you, I am eagerly looking forward to making it to 37 weeks so I am not forced to abandon my birth center birth and transfer to the hospital.
Hoping those weeks and day's fly by!

I hear ya! It was such a relief when I made it to 36 weeks, 4 days with DS2. I felt so much safer and less stressed about his health.
