New Swine Flu Vaccine Produced in Moral Cell Culture

"COGforLife.org announced today that a new swine flu vaccine produced by Novartis, is made using ethical cell lines. The vaccine, which was hailed last week by the Associated Press as the first to be produced in cell culture rather than the traditional chick embryo method, uses Madin-Darby Canine Kidney cells.

"This is great news for families worldwide," Cogforlife's Executive Director. "Other companies such as Sanofi Pasteur and Medimmune are using aborted fetal cell line PER C6 as their cell culture. Concerned families who may not have otherwise used the swine flu vaccine will now have a moral choice"

I suppose if that is the sole purpose not not getting a swine flu vaccine, this would be great news....

I still won't touch this with a ten foot pole. Dog Kidney cells...yummy.

The fact that they are not using aborted fetal cell lines is great, but that will not make this vaccine safe nor effective.

I found this news to be encouraging only in the fact that if a family chose to vaccinate they would have options.

Maybe it's alright for some people but it's still foreign protein, DNA and RNA to me.

So, no thank you. Keep the kidneys inside the poor helpless animals.

Wow! I had never seen catepilar and insect cells in the ingredient lists before.

I agree with the pp that the fact that it's foreign protein, DNA, and RNA is what bothers me more that the animal.
