Problems with Pockets Stinking...considering fitteds

I can't get the stink out of my pockets. I've tried almost everything and it's still bad. My prefolds don't stink at all and I feel like a lot of the problem has to do with microfiber (I keep hearing how microfiber is really bad about holding in odor).

Anyway, are there fitteds that don't have microfiber? (preferably ones that don't cost a ton of money) Are there other options that are easier than pfs but not pockets? (I'm looking for a Dad and Sitter friendly diaper).

Thanks.

Microfiber does tend to hold odors sometimes. What is your wash routine? What have you tried to get the stink out? Perhaps if we can start there, you could salvage what you have rather than buying a whole new stash?

If you can't save your inserts, maybe you can just try a different type - I really like both hemp and bamboo inserts. They are very absorbant, and that way you could still keep your dipes.

As far as fitteds, there are tons out there. A few have mf, but I'd say most don't. I really like Sugar Peas fitteds - they come in 2 sizes, and work nicely for us. Cricketts are also popular. I'm sure people will have a lot of other recommendations for you.

I do have some hemp inserts, but the stink is still there when I use them (although a bit less), so I think part of the stink is in the inner liner.

At this point I only about about 6 pockets that I use regularly. The rest of my stash is PFs (which are fine). So I'm only looking to replace a few diapers. And anyway, I'm pregnant with #2 so even if I get fitteds and also save my pockets, I'll have 2 in CDs at once, so the diapers won't be wasted. (the new LO could just wear our OS pockets)

I don't have time now, but I'll post our washing routine later.

I too had stink with my pockets. I found that they require more detergent than PF. So I wash with our PF and then the pocket outers get another wash with a regular load of clothes. Good luck.
For fitted I LOVE Thirstie's Fab Fitteds. Their clearance page on their website has great deals sometimes.

DH is really liking the new prefold fitteds from GMD. They have tabs and are easily snappied. They are around $7. We also like the Mother Ease one size. With another on the way this could be a good option for you. Once my little one hit around 11 pounds we were able to start using them. They wash and dry well. Most of mine are used and are in great shape. Really great work horse diapers.
