Breast leakage

So last night I noticed a slight bit of wetness on one of my nips but it was hardly anything and I was tired so I never sorted out where it came from. I just checked out my nip and gave it a bit of a squeeze and a drop of dark yellow- almost orange? Liquid came out. I assumed that colostrum was watery and lighter colored and that both breasts would be active. Anyone comfortable telling me about their early nip discharge or if it was one or both nips? Thanks!

The color could be because it might be old (I've had yellow crusties before), fresh stuff is usually clear to white and can be liquidy or rather thick.

I'm still nursing, so not the best to ask, but my leakage is thick and white.

Leakage is such a funny word!!!

My 'leakage' is clear, but only one booby leaks on its own. I'm sure it's normal, but if you are worried about infection I'd call your health care provider.

Lurking from August DDC, but when I squeeze, I have white AND clear coming out of various holes, and the other breast is more yellow.

I also leak heavily and wet my shirt already. Such a pain...but well worth it, of course.

Me too. I haven't leaked enough yet to wear breast pads but I'm sure I'll be wearing them before he's born. At least I know I'm making something though, that's always reassuring.

So I went on the Lll website last night and it looks like the color is normal- it actually described it exactly, so I'm feeling better about it. I've always felt that my left breast was less with it than the right, it's also the one with the fibroadenoma- poor thing! Thanks for the responses! I enjoy having the chance to use the word leakage too, LOL!

We ClC's and LC's refer to it as "Rusty Breast" LOL they have been waiting a long time to make milk. It will usually only last a wek or so then come out clear or yellowish.

Rusty breast, what a great name! LOL

I'm super excited that it looks like the gals are starting to work. Even though I've read that size doesn't matter, etc, etc. I still get paranoid that they haven't grown enough or that they'll just never start making the milk. Looks like the wheels are in motion though!

Too bad, there's no sensation with it, so you can't tell when they've decided to activate.
