Had my belly henna-ed today

it was so much fun.
I have been wanting to do it with each pregnancy but never manage to get around to it.The fact that this is the last one lit a fire under my bum and we did it.
I am 33 weeks here.

Beautiful! I did this with my 3rd pregnancy and my DH will be helping me do it soon. I want it to stay until I have the baby. My last one lasted 3 weeks.

where can one find someone to do this? it doesn't seem like the sort of thing that would be in the yellow pages. do you just happen to have friends who are good at henna or ???

I would look to belly dancing or Renaissance Faire sites in your area. You can also look at SCA and any Indian cultural areas. That is if you want a professional. You can also find henna paste or powder in some stores and have your friends henna your belly.

I think since I am dancing this weekend I might do mine myself and then set up a time to meet with a henna artist I know who works in So Cal to do a really large design for photographs.

It's really hard to make intricate henna designs. I tried to do it once. And you're assuming I have friends out here I moved recently and have several people I know, but no close friends yet.

I don't even know how to begin to find that stuff here, and I am definitely not going to spend the $$ on Ren faire just for that! Maybe I'll ask in FYT.

Let me see if I can locate a few groups for you. You wouldn't need to go to a faire to get it done just someone who is inbetween festivals who needs some cash (which is every boothy I know at faire hahaha!).

I ordered a tube of henna and a couple of stencils($1.0o each) from hennaking.com.it came in a matter of days and I just got a few friends together.It helped that one was an artist and we didn't end up needing the stencils.
check out the site it is great.
FWIW ONE tube did my whole belly,my arm and hand with some left over.
