Stuff has started to arrive. How long would you keep the boxes/packaging for things that arrive in the mail? We got our car seat the other day and the box is huge. I've checked that it's in one piece and fits in my car. Would you keep the box or get rid of it?

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

With things like car seats I actually leave the packaging at the store!
But around here you have to pay a dump fee (a per pound fee on top of the regular trash service fee) and it's also one of my small "protest packaging" quirks.
But if there is something you're not sure about and which you'd need to return by mail then it may be worth keeping if you have the space.

For us, it definitely depends on the box and the item. If it is something small or something that isn't awkward at all, we dump the box. If it is a big item or something (should we ever move) that would be hard to pack into another box, then we keep them. Especially, if there are built in handles, like tv boxes and whatnot. We do have a lot of storage area, so that is never a problem either.
We have *no* space. I think maybe I just needed someone to give me 'permission' to toss these boxes. DH is obsessed with saving boxes and packing slips for items bought online and frankly it's getting out of hand. He's worried that he's going to need to return the item, but good grief!
I put stuff together and made sure it worked, kept the packing slips and manuals and then got rid of the boxes. yay!

I think if you know that things fit and work get rid of the boxes, only if you are unsure of something would I keep the box.
