We get those too & they're tasty : Even if I could afford grass fed etc hotdogs there is NO WAY I would buy them for a bbq, which is when we're eating hotdogs. It'd cost me 1/2 my grocery budget!

Hebrew National has nitrates, soy, and 'flavorings' in them. (They are owned by ConAgra)

We like Applegate too. And another brand, but I don't remember the name. There are several brands at the WFM, including a store brand, which are nitrate-free.

Applegate farms products are so yummy! I adore them and feel OK giving them to the kids. The hot dogs are only $3.70 a pkg through UNFI.

Umm, a package of Applegate grass fed, organic dogs here costs about $6. I realize budgets differ across the country, but $6 might cost me my regular, non-pastured eggs and a gallon of rbst milk. For the lack of nitrates and other gunk, it's worth it. It's not like I buy them all the time. Actually, we buy them to bbq and grill.
