Well, this whole situation has gone out of control. Yesterday, I noticed the dog had taken two wooden boards off of my fence and managed to get in my yard... still attached to his cord. Bless his heart... He wanted so desperately to be loved on. I kept fixing the fence, but he kept taking those two boards off and coming back in my yard. Well I was going to go talk to my neighbors about it, but they were never home. I had no choice but to leave them a note on their door. I tried to be as nice as possible.. but I am sure they took it the wrong way. I basically said that the dog was getting in my yard and I thought he was lonely. I told them that everytime we go into our backyard he whines and at night we hear him whining. I told them they had an incredibly sweet dog and I was just worried that the dog was lonely and bored. Well, this morning I was taking my dogs out and of course the dog was trying to get in my yard again. I don't mind this at all.. Like I said, he is very sweet.. but it just breaks my heart. Well she came storming out yelling at her dog to move. My dog then barked and she yelled at him to shut the **** up. I wasn't going to bite my tounge because my 2 year old was right there with me. I said to her, "That wasn't necessary" and she then went off on me. Calling me a **cking B**ch over and over again. Telling me that if I leave a note on her door again then I better wait and see what happens. I couldn't say anything, she just kept yelling curse words at me right in front of my daughter. I managed to say that I had a right to say something since the dog had gotten into my yard. She told me to mind my own business (although not that politely.. curse words were involved.) I felt incredibly threatened. My daughter was really freaked out too. She then grabbed the dog and took him inside. Saying that we might steal him. Which made me laugh.. all I wanted was for him to go inside for a bit.
Apparently the dog isn't even hers. She is watching him until the end of this week. So hopefully that is a much better home. I told my mom what happened and she told me to make a police report just in case something were to happen again involving this woman. (2 guys live with her too.. so thats why I was confused on who even lives there). I made a report and she told the police officer she was sorry and that she knew she went too far. A lot of stuff was going on in her life and she shouldn't have taken it out on me. I can't say I really trust that. Hard to imagine her going from one extreme to another in less than 30 min. So I'm being cautious.
I did call animal control earlier this week to see if it was illegal and apparently my county doesn't think so. As long as he had a dog house, water and a bowl of food, there is nothing they could do. The county next to ours has it illegal though.
So that was my really fun day. I feel awful for that dog.. I hate that she felt so attacked by my letter. I really tried to be as nice as possible. But I'm sure I would have been upset to (not to that extreme though!). What a mess!
