Flying on a plane w/non-vaxed baby?

While I am trying to decide on if/when to start vaccinating my 6 month old, is flying on a plane to another state (not out of country) something to take into consideration? I know it sounds stupid, but I only ask because EVERY SINGLE TIME I have EVER been on a plane and travelled, I have gotten sick with a cold or flu. Never fails and I don't know why. So I was wondering if DD would be more susceptible to the "really bad stuff" if not vaccinated? What do you think?

DS has taken more than 20 flights in his life (starting at 2 months) - international and domestic trips - and I've never worried. There's no cold vax, and swine flu is the predominate flu strain right now. No vax for that, either. If you're nursing, make sure you take good care of yourself, eat right, etc. Wash hands often while traveling.

Are you vaccinated? I'm assuming yes, and you still get sick on flights, so I don't see how vaccinated your DD would prevent her from getting sick. I wouldn't worry too much about the "nasty" stuff because 1) I don't think the vaxs do that much for them anyway and 2) I don't think most people are flying if they are really ill with something that I would worry about catching.

Just try not to let people touch her and keep her hands clean after she touches things on the plane.

Very good point! Thank you for the re-assurance. I'll just make sure that I am loaded up with eating right and taking my vitamins.

i FLY once a month to Denver and back to Phx with my 3 non vaxed babies lol!
