Babywearing and work clothing

In a few weeks, I'm moving to an area of the city that's further away from my DD's daycare. Right now, I put her in a little umbrella stroller and get on the bus to get to daycare (DH picks her up and uses the stroller to get her back home).

When we move, I'll be the one doing both the drop offs and the pick ups, and because we'll be further away from the daycare, I'll have to walk to the subway, get on for a few stops and then drop DD off. Same thing on the way back from work. This means lugging the umbrella stroller, DD, my bag and lunch, up and down several flights of stairs (Montreal subways SUCK when it comes to using strollers). Since I already own a Beco Butterfly but hadn't been using it, I thought I would go back to it, but now that DD is 24 lbs and 11 months, I'd wear her on my back. I'm not very good at putting her on my back yet, but I'm hoping to get the hang of it soon enough.

What concerns me is that I have to wear business attire for work and it'll get all rumpled up when I put DD on my back for the trip to daycare.

Does anyone have any tricks, tips or suggestions for carrying their LOs to daycare while wearing business wear? I'd really like to avoid using the stupid stroller...

Could you wear a regular shirt and change it when you get to her daycare?
