can you guys look at my broc/cauli??

ok so the first couple pics are brocolli that i grew from seed, they did really well when i first put them outside, but i dont think i was able to keep the worms off and they might be too far gone....the 3rd pic i think is cauliflower and i dunno if it was a rabbit, probably, that just chomped the top half of the leafs straight off, the baby cauli is brown now, i dunno if i cut it out if new will grow? the last is a brocolli plant that my mom brought me from HD or someplace like that. i dont think i got it in the ground soon enough, cuz while the worms pretty much left it alone, the few heads of broc that is has/is producing are really small. like florets and they bloom so fast! i have cut a few small ones, but the 3-4 on there now are literally like 1-2 inches in width.

i am thinking that it might in my best interest to just cut my losses on these, pull them out and put some tomatoes there (i have several good size plants in containers that they will outgrow in a week or so). or even put in a row of radishes from seed while its still early enough.

im looking for advice thnx

It worked

Ok so I don't have a lot of garden experience...take my advice with a grain of salt. But I'd probably pull that stuff. No clue what went wrong with it though.

Also, what zone are you in? Radish, cauliflower, and broccoli all love cooler temperatures. They are not summer crops. Most people plant them in early fall I believe, but it does depend a lot on your zone.

I'd go with tomatoes this time of year, personally. But I live in an area where it's hot as heck.

That damage looks like it might be slugs to me. Sometimes they can live through a few chomps from a slug. I usually sprinkle crunched up eggshells around the base of the plants to discourage them, or bury a shallow pan of beer to catch them. I'm not sure about that last one, I've never had that experience before. I'm always hesitant to give up on a plant, especially after the work that has been put into it and I keep plugging along until the thing is really, actually dead. I'd plant your tomatoes and wait and see what happens to the broccoli/cauliflower.

i live in the north east, so while it is warm here for us, its kinda the beginning of our season. most ppl i know with gardens have are growing broc/cauli and i may be a week or 2 late on the raddishes, but really not much will grow here in the fall since we get frost then.

i saw little tiny green worms on the smaller broc plants, never saw any slugs. i did use an organic spray for garden pests, but i dont think i got them in time. i have about a dozen tomato plants in the garden and doing well, but another half dozen in containers....ones that they will soon outgrow that is why i thought the space might be better used. we only have a 1/4 acre total and that is our house, garage, yard everything so im trying to use the space the best that i can get crops...

so hard to decide.
