I was wondering why no one had started the spotlight thread for today, then I checked the sign up and nobody has today!

SO...maybe we should ask the moderators some questions or something!!

If anybody wants in for the second half of the week, speak up and we can start quizzing you immediately

Heck I can ask questions and see who want to answer....

What is for dinner?
What is your favorite recipe?
How did you meet DH/DP?

Ooh, maybe we can just do a general question/answer thread to get to know all of us better!

What is for dinner? I baked a ham last night, too late to eat for dinner yesterday, so it's dinner tonight. I'm hosting a Tupperware party tonight, too, so I have lots of unhealthy snacks to raise our blood sugar!

What is your favorite recipe? Gosh, I don't know! Someone else needs to answer this question, and be ready to PM out the full recipe if it's really yummy!!!

How did you meet DH/DP? Hubby and I met our freshman year of college, we were both in the honor's dorm, and that dorm was very open and close (everyone kept their doors open, we all talked, we all ate together in the cafeteria, but it wasn't the "nerd" table or anything!). Our schedules lined up so we ate meals together, kind of as a group. Eventually it ended up as a four-some, me and my suite mate, him and his suite mate. One Saturday morning I woke up *really* sick and didn't know what was wrong with me, dizzy, sweating, nauseous, hyperventilating. I didn't have a car, didn't even know where a dr was, and was just starting to panic when I remember that he was an EMT and wasn't working that weekend, so I called him and he came running to my rescue I had had a cold, turned out that I was having a hypoglycemic episode from not eating/drinking enough. He checked my blood sugar, got me some orange juice, and stayed with me the rest of the day to make sure I was okay. There's more to the story, of course, but that's how it all started!

My questions for the next person:

What's your favorite number?

Do you like your first AND middle name?

Have your feet grown at all this pregnancy?
What's your favorite number? 13 - for real. I'm a rebel and refuse to accept bad luck

Do you like your first AND middle name? I don't hate my first name, but I don't really like having the same name as half the other women born between 1972 and 1984 (Jennifer). I like my middle name - I picked it myself! I changed it a few years ago.

Have your feet grown at all this pregnancy? I don't know - I've only been wearing flip-flops for the past month I don't think so.

my questions for the next person:

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

Tell us about the best date you and DH/DP ever had

Do you like roller coasters?

Favourite number - 9. I keep having fantasies about Baby being born a little bit earlier than expected and coming on the 9th. A 9-9-09 baby would be so cool!

Name - I like my middle name. My first name is ok. It could be worse. It's just so boring and common! First I was going to be Tess, then Natasha...but nooo they picked Jessica instead. Oh well.

Feet - Nope, still size 8.

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream? Ben and Jerry's chocolate fudge brownie.

Tell us about the best date you and DH/DP ever had - Oh my. They're all good!

Do you like roller coasters? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I am a scaredy-cat. I am deathly afraid of heights.

Yay! This will be fun....

What's your favorite number?
#1!!! LOL that's always been my number for sports (jersey #). I have no clue why it started, but ever since I started in little league, that's the way it's been.

Do you like your first AND middle name?
My first name is Emily, which would be okay if not for the million other Emilys out there. Growing up, there was ALWAYS at least one or two other people in my class with the same name. In general, I like it, just not its popularity.
My middle name is Irene, which I like a lot (for a middle name). It's my grandma's name, and with such a popular first name, I'm glad my parents gave me a more unique middle name.

Have your feet grown at all this pregnancy?
Not that I can tell. My feet have been a little swollen at the end of the day, making my running shoes feel a little tighter than normal, but I haven't had to buy new shoes or anything. The fact that I wear combat boots to work everyday probably helps with keeping the swelling down (they compress from the shin down)- at least that's my theory.

My questions for the next person:

1. What's your favorite flavor of ice cream?
2. As of right now, do you have an innie or an outie?
3. How many siblings do you have? Brothers or sisters?
1. What's your favorite flavor of ice cream?
I have to have a favorite huh....hmm if I were going to coldstone then it would have to the strawberry cheesecake icecream they make. I might have to stop on my way home now that you have me thinking about it!

2. As of right now, do you have an innie or an outie?
I am hanging on to my innie...so far! I was a reallllllyyyy deep one so maybe just maybe I will be lucky and not lose it. I have no idea why I care but I do!

3. How many siblings do you have? Brothers or sisters?

Ok this is a fun one, if you want to be confused then read on. It depends on who we count as to say how many I have. You see I have a total of 14. But how many of them do I know and talk to, sad to say only 5. I am the oldest at 30.
MY bio mom and bio Dad had me stopped there.
Mom went on to adopt my brother (27) then married my dad (step) and had my sister (21) and twin sisters (19).
Meanwhile my father mistakenly thought he was a rabbit and just couldn't resist having many children with many people and leaving them behind. So with a lady he had another sister (25). Then he thought he would give marriage a shot and had twin boys (20). Left them and remarried again bringing into the family 4 siblings who are all 18 or older, 2 are twin boys, and the other two are girls. He then proceeded to have 2 girls (9,7)and another boy (5). I think that is all of them!

So incase you aren't keeping track that is 6 brothers
and 8 sisters. I hope to one day have a relationship with all of them. Right now it is complicated and difficult! I only have relationships with my four siblings with my mom and the first child my father had after me.

Questions for the next person:
1. Where is your favorite vacation spot?
2. How did your DP propose? or what was your favorite date?
3. You are going to be dropped on an island what five things do you take with you and why?

You are going to be shocked...but my family is EXACTLY THE SAME!!! I am actually one of 12 kids, number 9 of my dad's 9, number 1 of my mom's 4. I have 6 brothers and 5 sisters, yet I am "officially" an only child (everyone else is half or adopted). I have half sisters from my bio dad older than my bio mom, and I have great-nieces and nephews older than my youngest sister. I rarely tell people about "everyone", I usually just mention my three younger siblings (since I was raised with them) and sometimes my three older brothers (since I lived with them off and on while growing up, and since I still talk to them). The others? I know contact info for some, not for others, two have died (one of AIDS, one of cancer). I actually tried to contact them after my younger son was born because we suspected a genetic syndrome, and I needed family medical history. What a mess that was!!! My bio dad died when I was 18, and although it was terrible because I was very much a daddy's girl, it actually made life simpler.

Maybe we can go on Oprah together!!
I have thought about Oprah doing a show called sibblings, only in jest but still. If she got all my siblings and then all my siblings siblings on stage...we could fill the audience too I think! It is crazy! I hope my children know ALL their siblings, which at the moment I am confident they will, but I am sure my parents were confident in that too. I don't normally even differentiate between half, step or adopted. People I am sure become a bit confused, but ah well, I know what is going on.
