Hi all,
My DD is still breastfeeding and nurses several times a day and night (we don't plan on weaning until about 2). She also has a pretty healthy diet. She eats a wide range of organic fruit and veggines, organic meats and lentils, etc. We've also recently begun to introduce some dairy to her (sips of milk or milk added to foods e.g. scrambled eggs, cheese). She LOVES cheese.
I'm wondering what is the best to give her? I have been buying "organic cheese" made with pasteurized milk. I have seen several "organic" options made with raw milk, but have been very hesitant to buy these given the risk of listeria - is this a real risk? Can you give a toddler raw milk cheese (or raw milk for that matter)? I've read about the benefits, but am still nervous.
What do you think? Is it sufficient to just buy organic or would it really be much healthier for her to have "raw" and organic?
