I'm trying to minimize and have the best and healthiest gadgets. I'm all about multi-tasking, and we have a very limited amount of kitchen space for gadgets. I've done a lot of down-sizing of the gadgets, but I need help with this one:
We cook pancakes and waffles quite a bit. Often enough, that I don't mind having a waffle iron *and* something dedicated to pancakes. We use a griddle that fits on top of the stove burners. I like it, but it's teflon, and I don't want teflon anymore, so I really need something new. We used to have an electric skillet, but it took up so much space that I got rid of it. I'm torn between wanting to find a cast iron griddle or a smaller-than-the-skillet electric pancake griddle, such as what Alton Brown likes. The cons to those are: a cast iron griddle would be awfully heavy and the electric griddle is teflon, I am sure.
I have tried to make pancakes in my cast iron frying pan, but that was awkward, and with a family of 5 now, it was also way too slow.
thanks for any thoughts!!

:
, but if you make pancakes often you could either store it in the oven, or right on the stove. I mean, do you ever use all 4 burners at once?
