Curtains! Help!

Thread Starter
I want some custom curtains. I can't find fabric that I like at Ikea, JC Penney's, Country Curtains, etc. I don't know how to sew. I can't afford high-end custom places like Smith and Noble. Can anyone recommend a cheaper custom service? Anyone ever hired a seamstress to sew curtains? Should I just buy a sewing machine and attempt it myself? Ack! Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you just want a simple valance and/or cafe curtain you could just do it yourself and instead of sewing the hems use stitch witchery.

Before I started sewing I was the queen of stitch witchery! Love, love, love that stuff! :

Ask your friends and family if they sew and could help you out/teach you/do it for you. Curtains can be pretty easy if you don't need to get too fancy with it.
