No $$$ for dog food - WWYD? - Page 2

My Aunt feeds her dog Macaroni and Tuna fish per her vets recommendation. She gets the cheapo tuna at Wally for .78 and uses that w/the elbows macaroni and her dog loves it.

This is the diet our naturopathic vet recommended, with different meats, grains and vegetables. it's the diet he feeds his pets.

if you are concerned about calcium add some kale, chopped and cooked. Or use canned salmon now and then. My family gets plenty of calcium and eats a healthy diet, so I am not worried about my dogs in that regard.

I don't have ANY extra for dog food this month at all - I am working my but off trying to cover house taxes this month and the money just isn't coming easy.

I have a bunch of dry cat food left from my old cat who passed away - would it be okay to feed the dog cat food until I have $$$ to get dog food? The cat food isn't really old - maybe 4 months old tops. Said dog used to steal it from the cat all the time so I know she's not allergic, etc to it but wasn't sure since it will be for a week or two if that made it a problem.

and mods feel free to move to pets - wasn't sure which this fit in better.
If you cannot take care of the dog, and it sounds like you cannot, please give your dog to a local rescue that is no kill so they can take care of your dog properly and adopt him out to a family that can do the same please.
