card from governor of Tn

I received a card from the govenor today that took me by suprise, but I guess it shouldn't have. It says on the inside, "congratulations on the new addition to your family. As parents, we know how excited you must be. Remember, the path to a happy life begins with a healthy baby. Please take your infant to be immunized before two months of age."
This is my third child in 5 yrs and this is my first card like this. I'm assuming they are really trying to get kids vaccinated. My question is though, do they really think this will get it done? I mean really! Oh and it's a hallmark card too. I found it all very interesting.

I'm in TX & I think we got one of those too, with a vaccine schedule card in there and everything! We had a good laugh at how desperate it was.

A little OT -

That is one reason why I will absolutely not buy Hallmark Cards. That, plus the fact that they constantly pilfer independent artists of ideas and the fact that they use bottle on their newborn congrats cards. Plus some other things I've read that made me believe they are a very unscrupulous company.

Yeah, I got one of those for both my kids. I'm in TN ...maybe it is random who they send to? I just tossed it. LOL!

Now I'm getting annoyed. We got another one today, but this one has a train on it and it says, " For Tennessee TOTS...GET ON BOARD! The Immunization express" That is what is on front and then on back it says, " It's Time For Shots! Your child needs shots at the following ages:" and then gives the ages for each shot. I know it's only the second one now, but I'm starting to feel a little threatened. I hope this is the last one.

Check out here: http://corporate.hallmark.com/commun...ional-programs

This is why so many of us got these annoying cards (I got one too, 4 years ago in AZ).

I bought a membership to the Crayola Factory this year, because my daughter loves it so much, before I realized they were owned by Hallmark.

Thank you for that link. The thingy I got today has a number you can call if you no longer want them to send these immunization things to you. I called and have yet to get a call back. It just seems like such a waste of paper and money. I don't care how much money it costs, it's still a waste.
