On Tuesday I started contracting and went to my regular OB appointment. The OB sent me to l and d for monitoring and they decided it was baby day. I had my c-section that night and things went great with that. We went to recovery, I got to nurse a little and he didn't leave my side for most of the time.
However, about 4 hours after his birth, his breathing was getting worse (he was grunty right away) and they took him to the nursery for monitoring. His O2 sats kept going down and eventually the on call ped decided that my little hospital wasn't the right place for him so they sent him to children's. Once he got to childrens he was put on a vent, umbilicial lines were started and antibiotics were started.
I just got released and I am home waiting for my mom to get here to be with my older boys so I can head out to the hospital. It is over an hour away so we are hoping we can get into the Ronald McDonald house and just stay out there while grandma is here with the boys.
We still don't know what is causing my baby's breathing problems so it is still just a wait and see thing.
I would have expected this if he were really early, but he was 38+ weeks.
But on the up side, here are a couple pictures.
Thanks ladies.
Here are a couple pictures though from this birthday.

Robert needed a few extra days in the hospital for similar issues. I know how stressful it is but I'm sure Shane will be just fine!
