Thanks everyone. I am home for a few minutes, we are heading back out to see him.

He is doing well. Yes, he is at Valley Childrens and he is in great hands.

He has a respritory infection, probably from retained fluid from the c-section. He also was probably early as my dates were probably off (u/s and lmp dates were different and 38 weeks was from LMP but u/s made it more like 37 weeks).

Anyway, he is off oxygen, he is using a bottle, we hope to start nursing soon, but the boy is SOOOOO tongue tied, I noticed it last night, i will talk to the ped today about what needs to be done before we start stressing over nursing. He is doing good with the breast milk in the bottle for now.

He only has an IV in his scalp for his antibiotics, so we are hoping he might be home tomorrow.

I will post more pictures tonight when we get back.

Thanks I got your pm and I will write back when I have more then just a couple of minutes. I DO really appreciate it though and will probably be asking for help on the nursing. This is so different then my other babies and not nursing for so long with him it does worry me that we will struggle. I just have to hope and pray for the best.

Another update. He is doing well and I get to try to nurse in the AM. He might be getting moved to the semi private rooms, so I might be able to stay overnight with him.

Phrogger, I'm sorry things didn't go as you hoped...I know you wanted a take-home baby this time I hope he will be there with you soon, though...and I'm sure you'll do great with the nursing.

He's a pig and has had no problems at all. His first latch was perfect and we haven't had a problem at all since. Lots of prayers were for a good latch, but honestly, I think that is just the difference of a full term baby I think. I talked to the NICU nurses and they said most of their full term babies don't have as many problems with the latch as the preemies. They were ready to eat from birth, just had other issues (like his lungs).
