Is anyone making actual money doing online surveys?

I hope it's ok to post this here.

Dh and I are in a really, really, really tight spot right now and I've been wondering if theres any money (even a small amount) to be made doing online surveys. I know there are zillions of companies but, so far I haven't had any luck finding any that don't ask for money up front or actually provide a realistic way to earn money (not rewards or prizes) for each survey taken.

So, I know there has to be someone out there making this work. Any MDCers? What sites or companies are legit? If its against the rules to post links or give names of actual sites perhaps it would be ok to PM them??

(If this sort of question is against any MDC rules I'm certainly not offended at a thread delete.)

I do okay at it - maybe $10 a month in a short month, and some months I've done $100 or so.


It really goes in spurts - I only rely on it for income for things that get paid yearly {taxes, house insurance, etc} so I'm not in the hole each month.

I have heard that people make decent money from pinecone. I read about it here on MDC so maybe someone else can chime in. They only hire at certain times and I'm not sure what their criteria is for joining, but I have never been accepted.

Pinecone gives you $3 a survey but I have rarely ever gotten more than 1 a week so it is definitely no large income.

Pinecone only pays $3 and they sent me one about once every month or two. And they took like 20 minutes to fill out.

For me, it's woth it. $3 for 20 minutes is $9/hour, tax free. More than I'm making at my current job (SAHM ). I pile up my checks and use them to treat myself to lunch out (a big treat). Plus, I think they are fun.

But, not a moneymaker at all.

I do Pinecone, and I made $6 this week, and $6 last week. I also do Fusion Cash...I cashed out once for $40+, but haven't picked it back up since. I really need to!
