Abigail Sue was born at home on Thursday, June 18 at 6:50 PM at 38 and a half weeks. She weighed 6 pounds 7 ounces and was 19 inches long. I ended up not having a water birth because my labor really progressed too fast. (I was at 3 cm at 2:30 PM and 9 cm at 5:00 PM. Let's just say ouch!)We picked the name "Abigail" because it means "My Father's Joy" (DH really wanted a daughter and we liked the Christian/religious significance, too) and Sue is in honor of my mother. It means "Flower."
We are having a great time getting to know our little one. She sure does like to nurse, and I am working on learning how to get her latched on correctly.
