aaaargh grinding teeth help!!!

Thread Starter
My dd started grinding her teeth. She used to do it whenever we read a book, but i told her i would not read to her till she stopped, but now she just does it randomly all the time.
She does it for fun, because she knows it annoys me. It is the / noise in the world, & i just want to yell at her to stop.
suggestions?

Ohhhhh I hate that sound.

I am sure someone is going to tell you not to react and she'll eventually stop, but I'd take her to the dentist about it. It can really damage the teeth and they can make something to put in that will make it impossible to do. That should break the habit if it's become something she does without thinking.

You could call your dentist. Mine said it's a phase a lot of kids go through and there wasn't anything they could do about it. My son mostly does it when he's sleeping, but will sometimes do it during the day. I mostly just ignore it and hope he stops.

My dentist also said that dd's grinding was normal.

If you think she is doing it to annoy you, ignoring it is the best course of action. No response = no fun!
